I get those twitches quite a bit, and it's always in a different muscle group. I've noticed that it's usually at its worst when I'm tired and goes away after I've had sufficient rest. I don't if that's the main factor or what, but it is irritating. I wish I knew more about what causes them too.

I asked my doctor about this.

He said it can be due to several things. First is usually stress, mental or physical. Did you recently work out your tri's? Sometimes exercise coupled with a lowering of neural conductors (sodium, potassium and magnesium help nerves transmit electrical impulses) in the body can cause involuntary muscle contractions.

I started supplementing with magnesium tabs in the morning and never got another twitch.

Some leafy greens like Spinach, Chard, Beet Greents, etc., are high in magensium. You can also get decent amounts of it from wheat and rice bran.

Consider supplementing with ZMA also. Zinc/Magnesium and has other good benefits.
