3x5 @ 230... This number would be so much more impressive if I was 60 pounds of fat lighter (and added the fat weight on top of the 230)
This really got my heart pumping today. I'm glad these weights are getting significantly harder to do. When it's time for cutting I'll be burning more calories at these heavier weights. warmup 2x5 45 warmup 1x5 90 warmup 1x3 140 warmup 1x2 185 working sets 3x5 235
I'm still quite the novice, but I hit my first goal on Friday - body weight (170 lb.) squats! 3 sets of 5. Very exciting ^_^ Going to -try- 180 tomorrow. Probably be better off at 175. We'll see how I'm feelin'.
On Friday: Squats: 5 x 185 lbs, 5 x 205 lbs, 5,5,5 x 225 lbs Bulgarians: 10 x 20 lbs, 10,10 x 30 lbs Single-Leg Box Squats: 6,5,5, x BW
I did 25x315# once, but I think I'm a little different now - I'm stronger but maybe not in quite the same condition. Since we got the timed deadlift challenge going I have put of the long squat work for a while but I'll get around to it in the not too far future.
Nice....I went for max reps yesterday. Got 21 X 315. My legs were getting rubbery, so I had to stop there. Last 5 reps were really hard. Next high rep day, I going to shoot for 25 reps. I'm dreading it already.
I had a different experience. One day I was rested, and Andre suggested just rep out and see, I thought why not? and I got 25. Now that I've been there, I wouldn't be so happy go lucky going in expecting to get 25 or more.
Today I did some warmups, then 3x5 @ 245. Felt good to be back in the gym after a 6 day absence. This weight felt really heavy while doing this. I wonder if its because I only had about 700 calories in me (ground beef, cheese, few carbs), or if it was because the linear progression is catching up with me? I've added 110 pounds to my 3x5 rep workouts so far. I hope it continues!
