It sure is Wednesday, and I sure did dead lifts.

    Warmup:
    135 x12
    185 x8
    205 x3

    Working Sets:
    4x225x6

Something wacky happened in my lower back doing squats on Sunday, so I stopped my deads there.

todays poison was conv. deadlifts for time.

    deads for time: 225 x 9, 5, 5, 5, 3, 3 (25 total) in 3 min 20 sec

(not too shabby since two weeks ago i did 25 reps at this weight in 5 min 15 sec)

Cardio wasn't the limiting factor, it was definitely strength. My limit strength is much greater than the sets I work with, though, so you could quite probably do it.

    WOW thats fantastic deja!

Well today my deads fell on a Wednesday, and I don't think I can compete with your strength (or most anyone posting on this thread :) ) but since I love deadlifts, I thought I'd repost my back workout which I just put up in more detail in my journal.

    DEADLIFTS:
    1x335x5
    1x365x3
    1x385x3
    1x405x1
    1x410x1
    1x275x14

Trained at 4:50 AM, weighed in at 148.5 lbs. Height still holding at 5'9" :D

Hmmm, I guess no one else does deadlifts in the morning, LOL.
You guys don't know what you're missin.

4:50 AM? Best time to train! Especailly if you are an old fart bag like me. But this has been my routine for 20 years....early morning training. If you do any sort of squatting, deadlifting, or lactic acid high rep, volume type training, I would say that your pituitary gland is going to secrete more growth hormone, than if you injected the fake stuff. This is not to mention some other favorable hormonal responses you'll experience at the wee hours of the day. I've based this opinion on studies, but more importantly, on what I've seen with myself, clients, and other natural pro competitors.

Sleep? Sleep is for babies.

lol sleep is for babies, I hope your not implying rest is'nt beneficial mastover?:D

However I did think that your wacky training times may have a deeper meaning in regards to hormone activity etc, can you shed some more light on this topic?

Sleep is good for everybody. Most of your growth hormone and IGF-1 secretion in response to exercise happens during sleep. Want to know more? Go here and read.
