Did this ever happen to you? My weak forearms prevent me from increasing weight on DL. ( also on Bent over Rows)
At the moment it's deadlift friday for me. Coan-Phillipi Week #4 Deadlift: 75x8, 105x5, 140x1, 167.5x2 Speed Deadlift: 5x140x3 --CIRCUIT-- RDL: 85x8 / 85x8 / 85x8 Bent Row: 60x8 / 60x8 / 60x8 Reverse Lat Pulldown: 65x8 / 65x8 / 65x8 Goodmorning: 40x8 / 40x8 / 40x8
yup, but it tends to happen more on longer deadlift sets ex. 10 rep sets. I've been working on my grip and I don't feel my grip is holding me back anymore.
I've been doing Captains of Crush grippers. The grippers, timed holds would probably work best for the type of work you want to do. Also heavy DB holds would work well. Hold on to heavy DB's for as long as you can for multiple sets.
Try using a mixed grip on deadlifts -- one hand facing towards you and one away. Switch which hand is facing towards and which is away between sets.
Well if you don't mind getting your grip work in on other lifts, you can just go with straps or hooks.
I forgot to ask that, I just assumed it was being done. Grip makes a huge difference. how are you liking the C/P?
It seems to be working but it gives you insane back DOMS. The circuits aren't as bad as some people have said they are in some of the logs and articles I've read.
3rd week of deadlifting and i'm up from 100kg's to 120 today - although the last set of 6 was a struggle to say the least haha
Note the idea about using rows to warm up for deads. My back feels really great after this workout. I think there could be a biceps pre-exhaust aspect as well as upper back relaxation.
The back does feel good when its given a good workout. I've never tried that type of warm up though. Here is mine for today. Deadlift 95x5 135x5 185x3 225x3 275x3 320x3 355x2 320lbs (1,1) Some guy gave me props for my deadlifting today but then he got me scared about not wearing a belt...then I remembered what Chic wrote a post I put in his journal.
