I should probably stop maxing out every week. Is it that bad for you?

Congrats!! Your body will tell you if it's too much. If your progress stalls, or you feel an overall loss of energy, it might be time to take a light week. Psychologically, its fun to set 1RM PRs every week, but eventually the party will come to an end, and you have to be mentally prepared to accept defeat and fall back to some sort of periodization plan without losing confidence and determination.

    Thanks!

I was actually thinking about switching it up so that I perform deadlifts once every 2 weeks, and in the in-between weeks focusing on less taxing exercises, and more reps, to give my body a "break". Or, continuing them every week, and focusing on my 135, 225, 315 sets, shooting for 12-15 reps of each.

At the same time, for my 3 main lifts (bench, dead, squat), I usually focus on fairly low reps every week to build up overall strength of the lift, and supplement these 3 lifts with both higher-rep compound movements, and higher-rep iso movements (7-10 reps).

I am eating at about a 1200 calorie surplus right now, taking 2 hour naps everyday in between classes, and sleeping for at least 9 hours every night. So I think the rest and food intake has helped my body recover from week to week.

Oops, I went off on a tangent! :D

650 pound conventional pull @ 197 bodyweight. Broke 660 off the ground, but didn't finish it tonight. For sure next week.

Makes my 430x5 PR from today feel very unimpressive.

I don't know how old you are, but honestly, you can make sick progress in just a few short years. Go hard, pay your dues, sacrifice other things, and get it.

I also passed out doing rack pulls for the first time last night.

Yeah, I'm 33, a little past my prime but still making decent progress. I'm hoping to get to 500 by year's end. I've adjusted my accessory lifts to focus my efforts on DL. I've added rack pulls and a DE day using my deficit platform and bands. So far so good.

After a week off due to travel

    10 x 130 fast
    2 x 5 x 200
    3 x 3 x 270

Will go for 12-15 at 270 next week. Could have pulled some more reps today but felt my form waiver a little on the last 1 or 2, so I quit while I was ahead.
