555lb DL for a rep, next week we go for 570 Maybe smolov in a couple weeks?
I just saw your 575# video. One of those epic reps.
Love that shirt. Speaking of shirts, I broke in my JSF shirt today in honor of the guys who ran the Phildelphia race. So yeah, it's not Wednesday, but it is deads.
I've been hitting DLs of some variety almost every Wednesday. I've maxxed out what I can put on my dumbbell handles for DBRDLs. (80lbs each). I can do almost all that for SLDLs, but I still tend to get a bit wobbly on the last set.
Speaking of, how would i list that?
When I do an exercise that uses a pair of dumbells of the same weight, I report the common weight of the dumbells, so I would report four sets of 8 with a pair of 80# dumbells as 4x8x80#
The looks I get in a gym with that shirt on...
I was wearing that on the street in Mystic Connecticut and some local young men with motorcycles hanging around in a parking lot yelled at me "hey where did you get that shirt?". I yelled back "from France, isn't it obvious?" They didn't seem to know what to make of that.
Anyway, from yesterday:
I took it easy because I'm wondering if my left foot is all right or not.
I forgot to post last week's Wednesday dead workout:
Dead 3x275, 3x315, 1x365, 1x405, 10x225
Leg Raises: 5, 5, 10, 10, 5
DB Curls: 15x25, 2x12x25, 10x25
There might be a slight disparity between my deadlift and curl strength.
405. Sweetness George!.
I had been doing it on Wednesdays and I forgot too.
That was epic. That dude could have walked through the vid at anytime but he chose to walk by right when you locked it out. Punk.
Zen, how much was that?
Thanks! I got 405 for the first time in late January but lost a bunch of strength during an extended cut. This ties that PR and I'm lighter now (somewhere in the high 150's ).
PS: that 3x335 is solid. I bet you have at least 365 in the bag right now.
I'm in no hurry. I'm going to go for 345 for 3x next week. I now I can get it up at least once and it will be a PR either way.
Have you tried doing that last set like you did but at a ligher weight and going for 15 to 20 reps? Man that is a killer!
I was actually going to rep out at 225, had the straps all ready and everything, but I wussed out at 10. I just felt "done" for the day.
Depending on how my back is feeling I'll sometimes finish up with 5x10x225. It's one of the stupidest things I've done.
That set was 10x150kg (= 330#). Sorry for not answering sooner.
Those types of weights look tricky (at least to me who hasn't seen them much). It looked light but I was pretty sure it was up there in the 300's.
They are rubber "bumper" plates except for the white 5kg plates on the ends. I got a nice deal on them (and the bar) at Wichita Falls Weightlifting.
I like using them on that stone patio because it will do less damage to the stone using the rubber plates. Eventually, I'm going to get a platform set up somewhere so I can use my iron plates for deadlifts. But the rubber plates are still great for Olympic lifts.
Can you drop them without any damage during oly lifts?
Yes as long as you have a good enough bar.
My deadlifts fell this Wednesday. 5x140kg was nice to get 3 plates on there with good form finally.
Very nice, Woodan.
Today I did 10 reps x 125 lbs.
Kind of embarrassing in this company.
