    I think you have to account for both strength and speed when blocking an end in college or the NFL.

    There's no point in feeling weak about each other's bench. I don't think a lot of us are going to be close to I-ROC and Joe, and a few others number just quite yet. But we'll get there :evil:

    I didn't really feel it. I'm sure I could have done at least 3 reps (at 185)but something wasn't clicking right

    Well someone suggested that so I sometimes put stuff in there even if it's not from Wednesday. I don't get to work out on Wednesdays much these days.

    Chest workout from this afternoon:

    BENCH PRESS
    200 x 12
    235 x 19
    7 minute rest period
    260 x 10

    DIPS
    BW x 30, 20, 15

    The high rep set at 235 really sucked the life out of me. I'm going to continue with all high rep benching for the next few months to try to build my endurance back up.

    Vernon Davis? What's he done so far? He's been an undeniable bust considering he was A) the 6th pick, B) supposed to redefine the position.

    I will give him some benefit of the doubt that he's had a horrendous QB situation, but he probably won't see the field much with Singletary running a tight ship. Do recall that he was benched.

    Back up the ship Dan, Vernon Gholston, not Vernon Davis. Gholston had an absolutely terrible season, but I'm just clearing things up.

    Yeah that's Gholston. Davis is a beast too, however. I think he needs a couple more seasons and a QB worth two shits.

    Sorry just to clarify about Vernon Gholston. (I'm a pretty big NFL buff)

    He was terrible this season. He played only a couple of snaps a game, and usually not exceeding 10 snaps. He missed many tackles. Serves the Jets right. (Hint- I hate the Jets- Patriots fan)

    Beasting in the gym does not translate to beasting on the field.

    As for benching... (just my second bench day since starting to work out again)

    we played around a few weeks ago..
    and flat benched 40,000lbs. we had our goal at 25000, but it ended up being easier than we thought.

    there probably is no value in this type of workout, it was a play day.
    i don't think we woulda made it with a higher weight/lower rep combo.
