The 600lb Deadlift Club

    They don't have those at the health club. It sort of defeats the purpose of the gym to have to bring your own plates, though.

    Or maybe not. Would make for a pretty interesting gym bag.

    What are the differences between a trap bar, and a barbell lift?

    The trap bar is the sort of bar that is formed from two bars that go around you - you stand in the middle of it. Because of the handles, the trap bar can reduce the range of motion by about an inch and a half compared to a barbell, and it allows you to keep the weight more centered over your feet. So you can usually lift more weight on a trap bar, unless your straight bar technique is really excellent, in which case, weight is just weight.

    Interesting.

    I've seen people train with them before, including a couple at my gym...but I've never really known WHY they train that way.
