Wow! not even going to screw around with us weaklings in the 400 club?
HA! Maybe the short-term and long-term goal. I should have 400 by end of July at this pace.
I wonder it vBulletin has other forum plaques, if not we could start making signature tags for completing challenges. Forum bling!
I aim to join by, um... September 1! I'm at 455 lbs, this is the perfect challenge.
420 raw, no belt today. I'd like to get it up in the high 400's by the time football practice starts in late July.
500 seemed miles away just a few months ago, but I'm not too far now.....
I did an easy double with 407lbs last wednesday as part of my Coan/Phillipi Routine, and I'll be attempting a single at 440lbs on my test day.
Just pulled 430 raw, with no belt.
I'm focused on deadlifting heavy again, my max is the mid to high 300's not really sure where. It pretty well stays in that area even without much strength training.
Tomorrow i'll be pulling some singles with 352. I plan on running a stopwatch and seeing how many i can do in 15min.
Once i get 5-8 singles i'll be increasing the load. I have never trained the deadlift this way but i think it will help me self govern my rest intervals.
Thanks, but that was over two months ago. My most recent pull was 452 pounds back in the final week of July.
Here's the video of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmyKxalFZo0
The week after that pull, I tore my hamstring playing football and haven't deadlifted since. I'm just rehabbing right now.
Been out of town on business....I missed that Pete...
Sorry to hear that man...damn...
Looks like a solid lift to me, you had more it seem.
Rough luck on the hamstring, have a speedy recovery.
PR'd at 462.5 today weighing 195.
Way to go, Pete.
I bet you'll get 500 really soon if you stay injury free.
Thanks guys. Here's the video.
Can you start with your feet a little further under the bar? Maybe that would get you another few pounds.
I will give that a try. With Coan-Phillipi, my 1RM should improve quite a bit.
With you? It's going to go up like a rocket. What you need is to learn to get a long term pace so you don't hurt yourself a lot. Your muscles are going to grow very quickly; what you want is to make sure you get the rest of your connective tissue to catch up so you don't wreck it. Slow and steady. Progress for you is a given.
480 now @ 195 bodyweight
getting close pete!!!
