Ummm... :whistling sound as that goes right over my head:

I don't have either of those 2 conditions. I do however exhibit signs of my rather traditional upbringing in this regard. I think lots of guys would be loath to admit any personal vanity in regard to appearance. The guys who can freely admit that want to look really good are more man than me. :o

Joe Weider's to blame in my case...he'd always be on the cover of his magazines with his arms crossed over his ripped chest staring out at the world with his nose slightly elevated and that " I am so effing superior to you" look in his eyes.

Sure there were always wellknown "strongmen" in the media. But they tended to be beergutted big-ass neanderthal types that look slightly clumsy in any social situation.

Then along came the Dave Drapers, the Arnolds, the Zanes, and even though they weren't they actually "looked" stronger than the aforementioned clods.

Is there anyone here who doesn't want to look in the mirror and marvel at his own bulging biceps and ripped chest?

Guess I must be one narcissistic guy. I've never been to a weightlifting show of either sexes and could care less if I ever did.
I never watch them on T.V.....as a matter of fact I find them kind of repulsive. Never buy the magazines. Could care less who won Mr. Olympia.
But as far as myself is concerned...well..I'll fess up..I'm absolutely in love with me.

Not a day goes by where I don't flex a bicep in the mirror every morning..check the lats..cinch the abs...

But it's not my fault...Weider offered me the "drug" and I bought in.

Then again maybe self-esteem has something to do with it all. If I'd been perfectly content with my flabby cellulite-laden out-of-shape body perhaps I never would have bothered.

But there was Joe...challenging me with those " I am so effing superior to you" eyes.....

I would think it's only some of the women that want buging biceps.

As for me, I might like that, I might not. I got more use for big legs.

Strength? Sure, enough for what I need to do. Aesthetics? You bet. Functionality for an endurance athlete? Absolutely.

This is as 'big' as I need to get....
