Another day done.
Congratulations Deja on a month well played!
Last day for me.
Did another one!
Done day 29, very tempted but didn't budge.
30 down, November looking good also
So long sober october... welcome sober life!
Nothin' yesterday, won't drink tonight either. Haven't committed to November, but why not?
Nov 1st here now so all done 31/31 now to sign up for the November one.
Thanks again, folks, for initiating the Sober October challenge. Even though I came late and left early, it really helped me start my 36-week program off right. I had only scheduled to stay on until Thursday, so I can only claim a little over two weeks. And without the discipline of this forum, I couldn't even have done that.
By the way, what happened to me Thursday and Friday (see the training journal, if you want the gory details) is a very good object lesson about how NOT to come off a challenge. Briefly, I over-indulged, broke my weekly alcohol targets, and - surprise, surprise - my progress decelerated significantly. I'm back on track again, thank goodness, but a sadder and wiser Bear.
In short, Sober October was very good, but it's not the same as internalizing a sustainable change in behavior. That is my next, fundamental, and long-term challenge.
Deja, thanks for starting this and thanks to all who participated. Knowing that I wasn't alone was instrumental many of my decisions.
Good luck to all going forward.
Ditto, thanks Deja, everyone continue on through November
It was a good month! I surprised myself...thanks to all of you for helping me to stay on track, and thanks deja, for starting the challenge!
