The fries came out nice and crispy on the outside with a soft interior. I've used it 3 times with different foods since I was given it and am no longer skeptical about its ability to use so little oil and mimic something that is fried; in fact I threw out the box this morning with the recycling trash. I've yet to use it for its other capabilities.

    The brand is DeLonghi.

I didn't get the chance to wish you a good trip so I will wish you a "Welcome Home". Pass on congratulations to you your daughter's boyfriend. Law school at BC, wow not an easy accomplishment.

Hope your back continues to heal quickly.

Funny story. I'm at a Rehoboth friend's house for dinner Friday night. She asks me what sous vide is. One of the other members of the wine group had sous vided some chicken when he had us all over. The guy who has the sous vide wand is also a member of our NJ chapter and one of the couples that we went to Spain with. I explain the method and said something that made my wife ask " who else do you know that has a sous vide?". I mentioned you and Jaer first, then remembered that the other couple in Spain with us has one and served us sous vided salmon the weekend before. Then I remember Gazareth has one also. My wife says" all of our foodie friends I get, but your fitness friends too?" . Insert big belly laugh as I explained that my fitness friends like to eat well. :eat:

P.S. I just noticed you are on page 999. One page away.

I'll pass along your congrats. He's a smart kid who works hard.

Thanks about my back and that's a funny story about sous vide wands.

    I agree!

    Update

My back is good enough for me to workout so I was at the gym this morning for the first time since last Thursday and it felt good to be back at "it". I rarely set an alarm, but I do on Wednesdays to ensure that I don't over sleep. I woke up this morning before the alarm and was hoping I had a few hours of sleep time left, but it was not to be as my alarm was scheduled to go off six minutes later. Bummer.

We did two different circuits with each circuit having 5 exercises that we did 3 times.

I'm planning on making pork chops tonight and inspired by what Mac wrote I'm going to sous vide them and after searing, top with a red wine and garlic sauce. I'll be serving eggplant that will be cooked on the stove until it becomes mashable and then will be combined with garlic, onions, bread crumbs, and parmigiana cheese.

    Have a great day!

That thought fleetingly crossed my mind. If that's the case I guess I'll have to start another journal. Yikes! :ohnoes:

I had an excellent workout this morning. Two circuits, four rounds each, of four exercises. A smarter person would be able to recount all eight in sequence, but all I can relate is that there were squat variations, lunges, mountain climbers, bicycles, and chest presses in the mix.

I have no idea what I'm going to make for dinner and will report back when a decision is made.

    Have a great day!

What if your 1000th page is the catalyst for all of the old-school JSFers getting back together? :scared:

    Hi Ryan.

That would be a VERY good thing!
All I know is what I read on FB.

    Update

I went for a 1.5 mile run this morning. As all runs of late have been, it was harder than it should have been. My next run will be Sunday.

Dinner tonight is going to be shrimp Fra Diablo with a side of spaghetti squash.

    TGIF!

I had a solid workout this morning and now I'm about to head out to watch wifey and dear daughter run a Spartan race. 3.5 miles with 23 obstacles.

    Have a great day!

Nice run. It has been humid in NJ which makes breathing difficult for people with asthma.

Good luck to DW & DD. Hope they have fun.

Thanks guys. They had a good time, but it was quite challenging. Unfortunately for them their start time wasn't until 1 so they were in the midst of the hot humid weather.

    Update

We went to a friend's house for dinner and didn't get home until past 1. By the time dear dog settled down it was close to 2, but that didn't stop s from going to the gym this morning and having a good workout.

We wound up going out Friday night so I'll likely make the Shrimp Fra Diablo that I was planning on making then tonight.

    Have a great day!

Monday fun was 3 rounds of:

    Trap bar deadlifts
    Kb step ups
    TRX table top rows
    Ball slams
    Heavy rope duffel bag pulls

Dinner tonight is going to be pork tenderloin and roasted Brussels sprouts.

    Have a great day!

Despite stretching my lower back was tight this morning when I started my run and things did not improve. No walk of shame home, but nothing to brag about either. I see a heating pad in my future.

Dinner tonight is going to be a chuck roast I bought on sale that I'm going to tenderize by sous viding it. I'll also be serving sautéed mushrooms and a spring salad.

    Have a great day!

Everyday I look to see if you hit 1000 pages. :)

Hope your lower back feels better.
