I switched back to vibrams, and boy did my running improve (or rather go back to pain free as was with my old vibrams). I definitely notice the difference.

    Jaer
isn't trying to convert anyone (but come to the bare-side!). (Also, very aware that vibrams are minimalist not bare-foot, but minimalist-side doesn't sound as fun as the bare-side.)

Mac and Jaer, thanks for your input.

    Update

I can't write that I was happy when my alarm went off this morning at 4:30, but I channeled my inner Shamie (thanks for your inspiration) and had a good workout so I'm glad I went.

It's just me and dear son for dinner tonight and I'm going to make cheese raviolis with sautéed onions and garlic. The side is going to be a romaine lettuce salad. Despite my son's request the ravs are not homemade.

    Have a great day!

Four rounds of fun this AM:

    Dynamic step ups
    Rower
    Alternating side planks
    Standing Db presses
    Kb lateral lunges
    Mountain climbers
    TRX table top rows

In between each round we did:

    Jump squats
    High planks with hip touches

Dinner tonight is going to be roasted chicken leg quarters slightly seasoned with a mild curry sauce and the sides will be a salad and brown rice.

    Have a great day!

Today's exercise was a 1.75 mile run. No Garmin so no pace data.

Tonight is the first night of Passover and we're going to a friend's house for the Seder. I was tasked to bring a veggie and I'm making chipotle smashed yams.

    TGIF!

I meant to ask, what was the 4:30 am workout? Other than not being happy to wake up that early I don't think you mentioned what the workout was.

Thanks about the holiday. We're guests tonight, hosting tomorrow, and on Sunday will be at my SIL's house for Easter. Busy, but we still plan on hitting the gym both weekend days.

I know I won't be able to remember all of Wednesday's workout, but from what I can recall there were four rounds of:

    TRX table top rows
    Db squat presses
    Rower
    Heavy ropes
    Ball slams
    Bicycles

    Update

In a short while I'll get to the kitchen to make the veggie dish for tonight. Tomorrow's menu will be:

    Course 1
    Chopped liver
    Gefilte fish
    Matzo

    Course 2
    Matzo ball soup

    Course 3
    Red wine braised brisket
    Noodle and spinach kugel
    Roasted asparagus
    Roasted cauliflower

    Course 4
    Fresh fruit
A cake that wifey will bake
    What ever my guests bring

    Beverages
    Wine
    Seltzer
    Water

    Four rounds of:
    Burpees
    Bicycles
    Kb goblet squats
    TRX tabletop rows
    Mountain climbers

    And then for fun:

    Pushups
    Jump squats
    TRX mid rows

I'm about to transition to the cooking phase of the day. Our guests arrive at 6:30.

    Have a great day!

Thanks. Most of the heavy lifting is done; now I just have to make sure I don't screw up the timing of things. which won't happen because I have a timeline list. The will be 10 in total; the four Seltzers and the guests are my sister, a friend of wifey's for 40 years (and mine for about 35) and her wife and uncle, and another couple who we've been friends with for a few decades. Gonna be a nice evening, but wifey and I may not be at our absolute best at the gym tomorrow AM. :-)

Lots of fun last night with more to come today since we'll be going to my SIL's house for Easter. As suspected we're tired, but wifey and I will be hitting the gym shortly.

A happy Easter to all who celebrate and to everyone else have a great day!

I know it's spring because I can read a calendar. I know yesterday was Easter Sunday and it was sunny and about 60 with nary a cloud in the sky. I also know that today we got seven inches of snow so I had some bonus exercise this morning before going to the gym in the form of shoveling. Ugh! At the gym I did three rounds of:

    Db goblet squats
    Kb deadlifts
    Flat bench Bb bench presses
    Flat bench Bb skullcrushers
    Lat pulldowns
    Pushups
    Standing Bb curls
    Planks
    Bicycles
    Leg raises
    Crunches

We have leftovers from our Seder as well as food we took from my SIL's so tonight we'll be having a variety of leftovers.

    Have a great day!

I walked about 3 miles today so far; first to breakfast with a friend and afterward to do an errand. I also plan on doing a short run this afternoon.

Dinner tonight is going to involve the chicken I used to make matzo ball soup and a to be determined veggie.

    Have a great day!

Believe me when I write that I was NOT happy. Fortunately between the light rain, warmer weather, and the town's maintenance crews the roads are in good shape.

I had a resoundingly lousy workout this morning. Something is going on, sort of like what happened about a month ago, and I was asleep by 5 PM. Definitely not normal and while I felt better upon waking I knew I wasn't 100%. As bad as I was at the gym I'm glad I went because even a lousy workout is better than nothing.

Dinner tonight is going to be a chicken stir fry, using the chicken I didn't cook last night, with cauliflower rice.

    Have a great day!

Redemption, it's a wonderful concept. As previously written yesterday's workout was lousy, but today's was on the opposite end of the spectrum. :claphigh:

    Four rounds of:

    Turkish getups
    Burpees
    High plank around the worlds
Db single arm chest presses while on a stability ball
    Duffel bag cleans and squats
    Db 2 point rows
    Mountain climbers

Dinner tonight is going to be a top round that I'll sous vide then reverse sear on my kamado cooker. I'm going to serve that with a mushroom sauce as well as a garden salad.

    Have a great day!
