After yesterday's really tough workout this morning's was mild in comparison with the key words being "in comparison". I have some outdoor house stuff to attend to this afternoon, thankfully it will not involve raking, and then we'll see. Maybe a walk, maybe some time watching football.

After warm ups we did four rounds of:

Duffel bag cleans with a squat
    Dynamic step ups
    Stability ball planks
    Russian twists
    Heavy rope doubles
    TRX table top rows
    Mountain climbers

The kids, who may not even be home for dinner, have requested shrimp burgers so if they are here I'll make them along with a salad and some baked oven fries.

    Have a great day!

The walk never happened, but I did get some functional exercise hauling stuff. I then wasted time watching the Jets-Bucs game; given that my book club is this Friday I would have been much better served reading.

Not fitness related, but something weird happened when I went to the gym yesterday. The car key I was using was on a stand alone key chain and after I parked and locked the car via the fob button I walked to the gym entrance, all of about 75 feet. After that I did my usual thing, but when I went to leave I couldn't find my car key. Not in my backpack, not in the gym, not in the parking lot, and not in my jacket. I retraced my steps several times, searched my backpack, jacket and sweat pants several times, and checked with lost and found to no avail. I did some more searching this AM and checked again with the gym with the same results. I had to have had the key to lock the car and I was in a very restricted area after that; at this point I have no idea and while I don't relish having to pay for another fob I do want the mystery solved.

Good luck on finding the key. They sell something now, that you attached to the key chain, and you can locate the missing item with your smart phone. I don't have it, but it is a good idea, and reading your story, I think I am getting one. They are a pain to lose, not to mention the wasted money on a replacement.

Thanks for mentioning that; fortunately I had only one key on the keychain. What really made me nervous was that it was a fob so any unscrupulous person finding the key could easily identify my car and either stolen it or taken some contents. Ironically, I never bring my phone or wallet into the gym with the thought that I won't need them and they'll be safer in the car. I still think that way, but the preventative process could have backfired on Saturday.

    Update

Monday morning fun with my trainer:

    3 rounds of:

    Incline Bb bench presses
    Incline Db flyes
    Incline Bb skullcrushers
    Lat pulldowns
    Pushups
    Standing Bb curls
    Standing Db shoulder presses
    Planks
    Russian twists

All went well, but after three days of lifting I'm going to use tomorrow as a recovery day and not touch any iron.

Dinner last night morphed into pan seared shrimp, grits, and roasted asparagus. Tonight I'm making chicken soup because both wifey and dear daughter are under the weather. If I get some initiative I'll make matzo balls this afternoon.

    Have a great day!

That was what ran through my head. I wouldn't leave stuff in the car whoever picked up the key fob could come back since they didn't turn the fob in.

Fortunately the car I had that day is not the one I normally take to the gym, but given that the fob is still "out there" when I do take it I'll bring my wallet and phone into the gym with me.

    Update

Exercise for the day is going to be walking about 3 miles.

Dinner tonight is going to be chicken and a sun dried tomato pesto served over spaghetti squash.

    Have a great day!

This morning's workout left me spent. Four rounds of:

    Lateral elevated box runs
    Goblet squats
    Double knee thrusters
    Heavy rope fun
    TRX table top rows
    Kb swings

I'll burn a few extra calories by walking into town.

Dinner tonight is undecided because I don't know who is going to be home.

    Have a great day!

I wasn't at my best, but got through this morning's workout and I'm better off for it.

Dinner last night turned out to be pork chops served with a paprika cream sauce and a side of white rice. Dinner tonight will probably involve steak and roasted cauliflower.

Can you go to the dealer, and have them change the software code for the key? I am not sure how they work, maybe it is like a garage door opener, and they can change the code. Or maybe they can deactivate the fob key you lost.

Thanks for your suggestions. I hadn't thought of them and will do as advised.

    Update

It was a hard exercise week and I'm taking today as a rest day.

No cooking tonight because I have a book club meeting. I finished the book this AM. :-)

    TGIF!

Saturday morning gym fun. Five rounds of:

    Jump squats
    TRX table top rows
    Push ups
    Jumping jacks
    Kb goblet squats
    Kb swings
    Planks

Dinner tonight is going to be grilled rib eye steaks with baked potatoes and maybe creamed spinach. Afterward wifey is going out with some women from the gym; my plans are to stay home and read.

    Have a great day!

Your dinner tonight was my dinner last night (except for the spinach).

I didn't make the spinach so we ate the same. :)

    Update

No social activity for me last night and I was in bed very early. Wifey and I were at the gym this morning for four rounds of:

    Standing Db presses
    Walkouts with a push up
    Db two point rows
    Burpees
    Kb one leg deadlifts
    Heavy rope outer circles
    One arm Db squats

I'll likely take dear dog on a few mile walk later today, but other than that I won't have much going on.

I'm in the mood for jambalaya, but don't have all the ingredients and don't feel like going to the market so unless that changes I'm going to have to come up with another plan. Decisions, decisions.

    Have a great day!

I was at the gym for my normally scheduled fun with my trainer. Three rounds of:

    Incline Bb bench presses
    Incline Bb skullcrushers
    Kb squats
    Pushups
    Standing Db curls
    Left and right side planks
    Bicycles

That was the easy part of the morning because I then went to the supermarket. Holy cow! I don't remember it being so crowded before turkey day, but it was packed and the experience clearly wasn't for the faint of heart. I'd hate to have to go there on tomorrow or Wednesday.

It's a long-ish story, but we may be dog sitting our neighbor's son's dog starting tonight. Hopefully she and dear dog get along; our possible visitor is a rescue and has behavioral signs of being abused by her previous owner. She's about the same age and size as dear dog, but from what I've been is told skittish around people and other animals. A big FU to whoever tormented this animal.

Dinner last night turned out to be chicken tacos. Tonight I'm making crab cakes with a salad.

    Have a great day!

Yes, there is no busier time of the year for food stores then the days before Thanksgiving.

    Hope the dogs get along.

I had read recently that grocery store sales are down. They blamed Millennials for not cooking and food delivery services like Blue Apron. Maybe because I tend to go shopping after work and on weekends, but this HAS NOT been by experience. When I was shopping for the BBQ I had for my colleagues, one store you literally just moved as if we were a train up or down each aisle. There was no getting around people once in an aisle. I can't even blame football for that one as it was a bye week here in Philly.

Since almost everyone celebrates TG it's not a stretch to understand what your wrote is true.

Regarding the dogs, the (not so) youngins didn't show up yesterday so there was no four legged interaction. We may have some dog sitting responsibility today, but that's still up in the air. Unfortunately, we'll be going to a funeral tomorrow AM so we won't be able to care for our possible canine visitor until the latter part of the day.

It's definitely a challenging time for brick and mortar retailers. Some have figured out a successful model but the majority are floundering. I know we have a package delivered almost every day to our house. For the record none of them are ordered by me. :-)

    Update

Exercise for the day will be a 1.5 mile round trip walk to meet a friend for breakfast, a 90 minute stint in a dentist chair as my mouth was stretched, poked, drilled, and prodded and a walk this afternoon with dear dog.

Dear son got a generous offer for a career path position yesterday and we'll be going to a restaurant of his choice to celebrate so no cooking for me tonight.

    Have a great day!

Not only the retailers, but the retailers are squeezing the suppliers. As someone who works for a supplier, the consolidation in the retail industry gives Walmart & Amazon huge power over their suppliers. But from my not so scientific research, I predict most large retailers will have a good Christmas season (apart from Sears / Kmart), both of which I also predict will be liquidated in 2018.

That is a lot of packages being delivered to your house.

First, CONGRATULATIONS to DS. :claphigh:. Awesome news.

To Shamies prediction, somewhat ironic and sad that internet shopping will be responsible for Sears going out of business. I would have thought that the great "Mail Order and Catalog" history of Sears would have allowed them to become a true competitor to Amazon. But it never happened.
