damn, those pics are so crystal clear.
Thanks Paddy. I don't want to get all photo geeky, so I'll leave it at I'm pleased with the way they turned out. As one can imagine the dog doesn't like a flash going off in her face and is consequently camera shy so these were taken with no flash and settings that had very little margin of error. She was happy about no bright lights and I was happy with the results.
Weekend's started. Listening to some circa 1968 Cream and waiting for wifey to come home so that we can go to some to be determined place for dinner. Kids are doing their own thing.
Enjoy what should be a fun weekend for you.
its my snuggle buddy!!! she calming down any now that she's been off the steroids for a minute?
Big time! She's back to her old self and the change is dramatic. I've been playing telephone tag with her internist and general vet and the specialist is more optimistic about the results than her primary. I think going forward we're going to reduce the meds and introduce a dietary change. Thanks for asking.
We kept it low key last night and never wound up going out. That's fine. Today's been rocking and rolling from what was admittedly a later than planned start. Our plan was to run before our friends came over for brunch, but that never happened so we'll be going out in about an hour. Hopefully by then brunch and the two glasses of champagne I drank will have settled. Really, the damage isn't too bad as I made good choices and coupled it with a good dose of portion control, but I'm not exactly embracing the idea of running right now. Wifey feels much the same, but we're determined so it's going to get done.
Have a great day!
1. Better late than never.
2. 5.2 wasn't on plan, but it's better than zero.
So there you have it, the tale of our run. I can't say I taxed myself, but I'm glad we did it and I think we both found it mentally refreshing to not have to deal with the rigors of a truly long run.
cudos for just running after champagne brunch.
Thanks. Decisions were made in the early part of the day that we knew would throw us off schedule. That's fine. What's also fine is that wifey was adamant about making sure some running took place this afternoon. I'm not saying she's drank the running Kool-Aid, but she's definitely focused on the goal.
One missed long run isn't going to impact our performance come race day in any meaningful way, if at all, so I'm happy with the way the day is playing out. It started well, it's been going well, and I have no reason to believe that the balance of the day will be otherwise.
i love that woman.
So do I.
sometimes mental invigoration is more important than physical exertion
Agreed. We'll be ready to go at it next week.
I got involved in an around the house project and now I don't have time to go on the short run that I hoped to do before leaving for a full day. We're getting together with wifey's family and going to a St. Patrick's Day parade and then we'll be attending a party at my BIL's house. It's going to be fun, but nutriously challlenging. After yesterday, whenI ate both brunch and dinner out, I'm going to have to bring my A game.
Have a great day!
Sort of sounds like you're short on neutrons.
Oh the difference one little "t" makes.
Choppie's good at catching typos.
Glad you're feeling better and sticking with your running plans -- and running after bubbly is really something.
And she is kind enough to not correct all of mine in my journal. Thank god because that would be a full time job!
Hope your having a great day today with the family!
Almost as good as I am at making them. (That's for Paddy.)
Thanks Moddie. The sequencing of Saturday's events wasn't ideal, but it all turned out okay.
Kree, it was a great day with the family.
I'll leave it for Paddy to comment in that case.
Good times yesterday. Portion control was good, but there was nowhere to hide when it came to food choices. I stayed away from the desserts, but I'm bloated today from the saltiness of the food.
Today's a gym day and I'll be there in about an hour. It's been a busy morning so far and the afternoon has a pretty full agenda also, but I'm going to make sure I get to the gym in the small window I have.
Have a great day!
Nice update. It's great that you have time for your workout. I admire the tenacity. Go for it.
Thanks Leftyx. The exercise is what keeps me (almost) sane.
Solid. That's how the workout went. I felt strong throughout which is in sharp contrast to last Friday. My back wasn't feeling right as I was deadlifting so I stopped, but other than that everything went really well. Going forward I'm going to add Lat Pulldowns into my routine. What I really need to do now is pick up my grippers that I've been staring at for a few weeks, dust them off, and smash them. Sounds like a plan; it's hard for me to understand why I'm so inconsistent with them. It's not like I have to even leave my desk.
Dear son and I are going to the Nets-Pacers game tonight so even after a full weekend the music isn't stopping. Nor will it tomorrow as it's my wedding anniversary. Do I have a present, flowers, or a card yet? Do I have any idea what the present is going to be? Will I come up with an idea and purchase said item by tomorrow night?
