Hope you feel better soon, Seltzer! It's very frustrating to have to make yourself rest: just as much a battle of will as resisting food or drink. It's good to be our age: wisdom usually prevails!

Thanks Imelda. Wisdom usually prevails, but not always. It will tonight as I'm off to bed very shortly as I have an imperative to get better. Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks Kree. I was there earlier this morning.

    Update

In recognition of St. Patrick's Day I coughed up some lovely green crap this morning, but am feeling substantially better than yesterday. I'm currently back to a dry cough, but my energy level is closer to normal and I'm optimistic that the worst is behind me. Who knows, I may even have some fitness stuff to write about today.

    Have a great day!

    Indeed.

    Update

Sunny and 62 was too much to resist so despite having doubts about my judgment I decided to go on a bicycle ride this afternoon. It was my first ride since November 14 and that combined with my still compromised cardio system made the 10.2 miles more difficult than it should have been. I kind of expected that, but what was a not so pleasant surprise was that my lower back started to tighten up after about six miles.

I don't remember coughing while riding, but now that I've been done for a couple of hours I'm back at it again.

Biking shoes that have felt very neglected for the past four months.

My back still feels tight so I may do some foam rolling tonight and/or tomorrow.

    Thanks buddy.

    Update

Flounder and broccoli for dinner and I'll shortly be on my way to bed for another early evening with the objective of getting rid of this cold as quickly as possible.

Thanks Imelda. I'm down to a persnickety dry cough so that's a step in the right direction.

    Update

The road back to full health continues and I'm feeling good enough to make it to the gym. I'm not expecting too much as far as performance is concerned, but whatever I do will be better than nothing and, more importantly, I don't think taxing my body will affect my recovery.

The weights seemed very heavy today, but I'm glad I lifted. I'm also glad that it's over. Although I only missed one day (Wednesday) when I walked into the gym it felt as if I hadn't been there in a long time. Odd.

When I came home this fellow was dead on my desk.

EWWW. I recognize that. The dreaded bug that can infest a house. Please don't say you have a STINK BUG infestation.

No infestation here. That would surely suck. This fella looked more like a moth than a stinkbug, but regardless I surprised to find it when I came back from the gym.

I'm closing up shop. Busy and decent day work-wise, which don't always coincide.

Wifey and I were supposed to go out for dinner tonight with some friends, but they just canceled and will be coming over tomorrow for brunch. That means that we're going to have to get our run done early, which shouldn't be an issue weather permitting, since I am planning on making it an early night once again with the hope that I can finally start feeling 100%. Wifey is scheduled to do 8 miles and I may stop at that also; I'm ahead of schedule and don't want to overly tax my cardio system.

As for dinner tonight, I'm not sure what we're going to do.

Thanks buddy. I really am. Drinking lots of fluids and making sure I get extra sleep by going to bed early. It normally takes about a week for something like this to run its course and I think it'll clear up a day or so early. In the context of recuperating, not having friends over tonight is a good thing as it'll be a quieter and earlier evening. Since we get to see them tomorrow it really works out better for me.

Pulled out the camera again and took some shots that are cuter than the bug one I posted earlier today. It's a super shallow depth of field day, I guess. Taken indoors with available light.
