    Yep, I'm back.

For a number of reasons I made a conscious decision not to post while away, but not a day went by when I didn't wonder about how my friends here were doing. It's going to take me a while to catch up, both here and with some work/real life stuff, but it'll get done.

The return to reality often sucks.

The hotter weather definitely makes a difference. Maybe not valley of the suck but advanced preparation for running when it's warmer.

Not that my reality sucks, but it sure isn't as care free as being on vacation. :nope:

This morning at my regular gym will put me back in my place.

It was obvious that we weren't acclimated to the warmer weather, but nonetheless we did what we needed to do in regard to exercising and it sure felt good when we were laying around the pool.

    Thanks so much E.

    Update

For the first time possibly ever I lost weight while on vacation. That's the good news. The bad news is that I'm still on my way to recording my highest average weight for a month. The sad details are that I weighed 185.4 this morning and while I haven't done a bf reading I'm sure that the number will not be one that I'm proud of either. I guess it's time to really clamp down on the nutrition.

Today's a gym day and I'll be moving some iron in about 45 minutes.

    Have a great day!

Apparently, you forgot to bring the warm weather from Florida back with you. :)

Shamie, I did my best, but I wasn't up to the task.

    Update

This morning's workout, which was anticipated with great enthusiasm, turned out to be the definition of mediocre. It's hard to say why, but it's behind me and I'm moving on. Gripper work will be done this afternoon. It's going to be interesting to see if there's been any regression as I forgot to bring them to Florida. :bang:

    Back to the grindstone.

Nice photos, looks like a wonderful vacation. Sorry the workout was medicore, maybe your body was still on vacation. You'll get back to normal real quick though.

Thanks Who. It may have just been one of those days. With so much stuff to take care of today I'm not paying it much mind.

    Update

I just registered for the 2011 Marine Corps Marathon. As I've written before my plan is to run it unless I get chosen for the NYC Marathon the following week. I'll talk to wifey and dear son in the next couple of days about whether or not they want to come with me.

Gripper work is not yet done.

:bang: :oBetter late than never.....A generous "C" was all I deserved. I'll use the combo of vacation and it being a Saturday cards to get out of jail for free.

Thanks Jason. I'm really hoping to do NYC, but I had such a great experience last time with the MCM that I'd be fine running it again. Of course so much of the enjoyment I had last fall was due to M@, Ms. M@, Zoe, Ecrivain and Phillydude. It's nice knowing that I have a fall run already planned.

:o Sorry Choppie. I read it and don't know how I missed quoting it. My bad. :(

    Brown noser!

    Thanks Paddy.

    this is a no_brainer, E:nod::nod:

Paul, the NYC is a draw is that right? unless like Shamie you run 400 local races in order to qualify each year, that is:)

    Just returning a favor. :)

For me it is. There are other ways of getting in such as Shamie's way, beating a qualifying time, and raising a certain amount for charity.

    Update

Today's a cardio day and I hope to get a short run done this afternoon. Given my schedule today that may not happen.

    Have a great day!

I sat in municipal court for almost four hours in an attempt to have dear daughter's $28 parking ticket vacated and the towing fee of $200 reimbursed. The judge immediately ruled in my favor about the parking ticket, but said he had no jurisdiction over the towing fee and suggested I file a civil suit if I wanted to pursue getting it back.

I have to leave in about two hours for a meeting that I need to be better prepared for so any chance of a short run this afternoon has been crushed.
