Yesterday afternoon I took dear dog for 2.5 mile walk so I logged some additional exercise. I'll likely take her for a walk this afternoon. This morning I did four rounds of:

    Explosive step ups
Low planks while pushing and pulling Dbs
    Reverse lunges with racked Kbs
    Pivot pushups off a riser
    TRX table top rows
    Ball slams

Dear son went out last night and wifey had a large late lunch so it was just me for dinner and I had the leftover salmon and rice from the day before. I'll be alone tonight because dear son is once again out and wifey will be leaving here shortly to spend today and tomorrow with her book club women at the beach house of one of them. What are the odds that the book will be discussed? Other than the previously mentioned planned dog walk I'm not sure what I'm going to do, but since it's so nice weather wise I plan to spend time outside.

This morning I finished making corned beef and presently I'm desalinating it. I'll apply the appropriate spice later today and smoke it mid week.

    Have a great day!

I want to try making pastrami but for tomorrow it will just be a standard brisket.

    Enjoy!

    Update

    Four rounds this morning of:

    Walkouts with a pushup
    Bicycles
    Db two point rows
Kb squats with a two second hold at the bottom
    Kb farmer's walk
    Rower

In between each round we did other fun things such as mountain climbers, burpees, and jump squats.

If I ever again mention what my evening plans are going to be, run to your nearest bookie and bet that it won't happen. Once again my plans for last night changed because wifey tweaked herself at the gym and decided not go away. Instead she stayed home and we wound up going out for dinner. Deciding that rest was the way to go, she didn't go to the gym this morning.

    Have a great day!

Thanks. Yesterday was a total rest day with doses of Alleve. I'm not sure how she's feeling today.

    Update

    Three rounds this morning of:

    Flat bench Bb presses
    Flat bench Db flyes
    Flat bench Bb skull crushers
    Standing Bb curls
    Double arm Db squat presses
    Incline crunches
    Ab wheel roll outs
    Leg raises

Dinner last night was spaghetti squash topped with a roasted eggplant, onion, garlic, and tomato sauce.

    Have a great day!

It's an active rest day; a couple of miles with dear dog and 20 pushups and 3 75 second planks.

Dinner last night was mussels and clams served over linguini.

In non fitness news, it's always a nice day when you get a letter from the IRS saying they've recalculated your 2017 return and you owe them almost five grand. I briefly looked at their calculations, but immediately dropped the notice off at my accountant's office. Without any real knowledge, I am confident this will be resolved in my favor.

    Have a great day!

A weak sauce workout this morning. Despite doing all the right things last night and this AM I struggled. Definitely not my best, but I'm better off for having gone. I did four rounds of:

    Standing single arm Db presses
    Rower
    Db Romanian deadlifts
    Double knee tucks on gliders
    Db alternating rows
    Walkouts with a pushup
    Heavy ropes

Dinner last night was boneless chicken thighs cooked mostly in a sous vide bath and then baked with mango chutney. The side was a mixed green salad with cucumbers and tomatoes from our garden.

    Have a great day!

Thanks. I'm not sure what the current status is. I gave my accountant the letter yesterday so I really wasn't expecting to hear from his office today. Keeping my fingers crossed that all goes in my favor and I think it will. All income and virtually all expenses have a paper trail and it's not like I claimed 42 dependents.

    Update

I had a follow up with my pulmonologist earlier today and we've decided to continue with the medication cocktail I'm currently on. Unless something goes awry I'm scheduled to see her in four months.

A much better performance at the gym today.

That was followed by two rounds of:

    A different agility ladder exercise

Fridays are normally an active rest day, but right now I'm leaning toward making it a total rest day. It's early so I have time to change my mind.

No cooking for dinner last night because wifey and I, along with some gym friends, went to visit a gym friend who broke her ankle last week. We got home a bit before 8 and foraged. Although I didn't cook dinner, I did smoke my corned beef that had been soaking up pastrami seasonings for the past few days, so I now have the somewhat delayed pastrami that will be ready to serve after steaming it for a couple of hours.

    TGIF!

Wifey and I had a very nice walk with our club. Some elevation changes and at times very rocky so it was a good workout and we all were able to say that we enjoyed our lunch. On the drive home we got invited to an impromptu gathering at a friend's house so no cooking for me tonight because we're going there.

I didn't cook last night either because we went to dinner with friends.

    Have a great day!

A solid workout this morning. Four rounds of:

    Ball slams
    Jump squats off a riser
A different core exercise each round
    Db squats
    Kb swings
A different agility ladder exercise each round
    TRX squat rows

I have some yard work to do this afternoon and with the weather being so nice there may be a walk also.

    Have a great day!

The dog walk never happened yesterday, but I did do some yard work.

I had a great workout this morning. It was three rounds of:

    Push ups
    Lat pulldowns
    Seated cable rows
    Standing Db presses
    Standing cable triceps pushdowns
    Standing cable rows
    Planks
    Leg raises
    Crunches

Dinner last night was home made pastrami and I have to say I nailed it! It was served with rye bread, home made cole slaw, and pickles.

In non fitness news dear daughter is back from Hawaii and in the contiguous 48. She won't be home until tomorrow as she's spending today at her BF's house in Massachusetts. It's hard to believe that come Thursday this house will no longer be her home, but it's happening.

    Have a great day!

An active rest day. Two sets of twenty push ups, two sets of twenty crunches, and two ninety second planks.

Dinner last night was hamburgers grilled on my kamado with hickory wood, corn on the cob, and potato wedges cooked in my air fryer.

Dear daughter got the keys to her apartment this morning and is setting up some things as well as waiting on the cable guy.

    Have a great day!

Yes she did. She starts the Monday after Labor Day.

    Update

I went to bed with every intention of going to the gym this morning, but I woke up a mess. I have a headache and my eyes are not only burning, but constantly tearing. Not fun, to say the least.

This afternoon I'll be picking up the moving truck so I'll get some functional exercise loading the darn thing. Dear daughter and dear son will drive it to MA tomorrow and wifey and I will show up on Friday to move everything into the apartment and then go to DD's BF's house to get his stuff.

Dinner last night was chicken thighs baked with roasted red pepper sauce, tri color cous cous, and a garden salad.

    Have a great day!

Exciting times in the Seltzer family. I know you will miss her but must be rewarding watching her spread her wings and fly on her own.

Yes to both comments. All is good.

    Update

No gym this morning as we finished loading the truck.

    Have a great day!
