    It was a good time yesterday.

    I'm on the mend for sure, but not as quickly as I would like.

    Exercise for the day was a walk to meet a friend for breakfast and some stretching this afternoon. Meh. There may be a walk with dear dog if the rain stops.

    Good luck with the recovery. Walking in the rain is so much less appealing than the sun--it rained today here, too.

    There's some strange orb in the sky and the sky is blue today. Very odd. :-)

    Update

    Workout for the day is done. Too many different exercises to recount, but there was a mix of HIT cardio, agility, and strength stuff. I dogged one exercise to protect my shoulder.

    No cooking for me last night because wifey and the kids coincidentally were out with their respective friends.

    Glad you can keep getting to your workouts even if you have to save your shoulder from some of the strain.

    Thanks. As long as I don't hurt myself working out with some accommodations is better than not working out at all.

    Ball slams
    Ab wheel roll outs
    Kb swings
    Push ups
    Heavy ropes
    Tire flips
    Lateral shuffles

    Dinner last night was thinly sliced beef with corn as the side.

    Went on a 45 minute walk with wifey, dear daughter, and dear dog this afternoon.

    Dinner participation got totally screwed at the last minute so I had do adjust. Left over beef, chicken, corn, served with pasta. Not fancy, but sustenance and reasonably healthy.

    Doesn't sound like a bad meal at all in a pinch!

    Thanks. It turned out just fine with another upside being that since I was going to cook something different originally I now have a dinner idea for later.

    Update

    My exercise plan for the day is to do a (very) short run. I'll report back after the fact.

    Thanks. The standards were low and I managed to complete a 1.5 mile walk/run. Meh. I also did a two mile round trip walk into town to do errands.

    Four rounds this AM of:

    Agility ladder drills
    Lateral box runs
    Heavy ropes
    TRX table top rows
    Squat jumps
    Mountain climbers on gliders
    Db squat presses

    And that ends the healthy portion of the day. Today is my b'day and my MIL invited to us to lunch and tonight we're going out with long time friends to celebrate my b'day as well as the husband of the couple who also has a birthday today. No gym tomorrow because wifey and I are leading the hike for our hiking club and then we're going to lunch at a restaurant that a friend owns. Something tells me there will be lots of calories in my future and the scale will be ugly come Monday morning.

    Calories don't count on such occasions. Just enjoy.

    1.5 mile run with an additional 2 mile walk is great start to your return to running.

    Update

    Another fun birthday is in the books. Both lunch and dinner were tasty and enjoyable. Yesterday we led our hiking club on a four mile hike and then walked to the restaurant of a friend for lunch. After that we spent the balance of the day at our block party.

    I was at the gym this morning for three rounds of:

    Incline Bb bench presses
    Incline Db flyes
    Lat pulldowns
    Bench dips
    Planks
    Leg raises
    Turkish get ups
