Thank you. We have a very nice time with some long time friends.

    Update

Maybe because yesterday was an unusual Sunday rest day or maybe I just had a really good day, but regardless I had an excellent workout this morning. Three rounds of:

    Db goblet squats
    Bb flat bench presses
    Db flat flyes
    Push ups
    Db bench rows
    Standing Db shoulder presses
    Planks
    Bicycles

Dinner tonight is going to be shell steaks and corn on the cob.

    Have a great day!

Late update because I don't have much. Exercise has been a few miles of walking, in two shifts and one of them being going to breakfast so meh on that front.

Dinner tonight is going to be avocado and sun dried tomato stuffed burgers with sautéed string beans as the side.

    Thanks.

I found that out this morning. I have one more ripe one that will get eaten before the day is over.

    Update

When you fall down your front steps at 4:40 AM while going to the sidewalk to get the newspaper, break part of the nail on a big toe and skin both your knees, you can only hope that it's not a harbinger of what lies ahead for the day. Fortunately it doesn't seem to be, but I look like a little kid with band aids on both knees. After cleaning up my act I was at the gym for four rounds of:

    Db squat presses
    Db two point rows
    Db reverse lunges
    TRX table top rows
    Up downs
    Db Turkish get ups
    Db Russian twists

Dinner tonight is going to be baked pork chops with a side salad.

    Have a great day!

Two circuits of four rounds of:

    First:

    Db 2 arm squat presses
    Up downs
    Lateral box runs
    Kb farmers walk

    Then:

    Pushups
    Db single arm squat presses
    Heavy ropes with a jump
    TRX rows

And because that wasn't enough fun we did plank variations.

No cooking tonight because it's dear son's b'day and we're going out to dinner.

    Have a great day!

First, hope the knees and toe are better.

My visual of the above is jump rope with battle ropes. I know that is not what you meant but mine would be impressive.

Thanks about the knees. I'll be fine. The heavy ropes I refer to are 20 ish feet long when doubled up and anchored around something heavy so it doesn't move. Today's fun was to hold each strand, shake it up and down while simultaneously jumping while facing forward and then twisting so that you're shaking the ropes from the side.

For the record, I can't jump rope to save my life. Never could. :blank:

Went on a sloth paced 2 mile run this AM before the weather turned ugly.

Dinner tonight is going to be boneless chicken thighs that I'm going to sous vide and season and bake in the oven. The side is going to be corn on the cob.

    TGIF!

So you cook them in the bag with the water, then take them out of the bags, season them up and crisp up the outside in the oven? Ive never done that method but i'm intrigued.

Yes. I use regular storage/freezer bags, get all the air out, immerse everything in water and set the sous vide machine to the temperature I want the finished product to be. Folks who own a vacuum sealer go that route before immersion, but I don't own one so I use the put the bag with the ingredients in the water with a little opening at the top of the bag and once the air is pushed out I zip it closed. After the requisite amount of time you have the option of searing it right away, shocking it in cold water and then reheating, or refrigerating/freezing for later use. Almost always I go with option one; take it out of the bath and sear on a griddle, pan, or a grill to achieve the Milliard effect to get some tasty crust. Baking, as I did yesterday is not the option I use too often, but everything came out fine.

    Update

Almost 60 minutes of weights and another 30 minutes of cardio this AM.

We're going to a BBQ this afternoon so I don't think I'll be cooking dinner tonight.

    Have a great day!

    Thanks.

    Update

Weird. I know I wrote something yesterday, but it's not here and there's no saved draft. Hopefully this post fares better.

Wifey and I were at the gym yesterday AM and then didn't do too much else for the balance of the day. Reading, listening to music, and some TV.

I had a very good workout this morning. Three rounds of:

    Standing Db presses
    Lat pulldowns
    Push ups
    Standing Db front raises
    Standing Db lateral raises
    Standing Db bent over raises
    Standing Bb curls
    Db bench rows

Dinner last night was ice cream. That's not a typo. Long story, but we decided to hit a place in town and I wound up getting a cup of ice cream that was almost as big as my head. And I finished it. :) Unless something goes haywire tonight we're going to be having shrimp with pesto using basil from our garden and a spiralized zucchini that wifey grew.

    Have a great day!

I did some walking to take care of some errands this AM. Nothing too taxing, but I came home a sweaty mess due to the weather.

Dinner tonight is going to be crab cakes and a salad.

    Have a great day!

A very mediocre performance at the gym this morning. Redemption will come tomorrow. Three rounds of:

    Glider mountain climbers
    Db floor chest presses
    Db reverse lunge shoulder presses
    Squat touchdowns on a riser
    Push ups
    Standing Db curls
    TRX table top rows

Sort of last minute-ish nobody was going to be home for dinner last night so the crab cakes and salad will be served tonight.

    Have a great day!

Many rounds of two circuits of four exercises each, pretty much hitting all body parts.

No cooking tonight because we're going to a wedding.

    Have a great day!

I know you and your daughter will most likely not run 100 miles but I thought this was a good insight into the bond between a father and daughter running together. A little back ground, the daughters husband Tim has won the Western States 100 a few times an several other ultra races and is still competitive. Cool to see him "crewing" instead of winning.
