Progress Pictures

    EDIT: I added a new pic January 4th. You guys all flex in your pictures, so here's a flexed pic for ya. I turned the flash off too. That makes a huge difference :)

    In 2001, I was 290 lbs. Since then I've lost a bunch of weight and completed 1 marathon and 3 ultras. My results have been ok given my size (200-215 lbs) but now I want to be FAST! My starting-over weight on Sep. 6, 2005 was 222.5 lbs. I am calling this my "Boston diet", because my goal is to lose weight and qualify for the Boston Marathon. My goal weight is 165 lbs. The qualifying time for 'male 18-34' is 3h 10m. I hope to qualify at the Vancouver Marathon on May 7, 2006.

    The rule of thumb is 1 minute off your marathon time for every pound that you lose.

    Pic1: June 22, 2001. 290 lbs
    Pic2: October 6, 2005. 205 lbs
    Pic3: December 13, 2005. 178 lbs (16.8% BF by Hydrostatic Weighing)
    Pic4: January 3, 2006. 171 lbs.

    You look great, what a transformation! Good luck in your training for the marathons. I know a guy who does a different marathon each week basically all through the Spring and into the Summer...you guys amaze me!:claphigh:

    Let me add my kudos and sincere congrats to all the others. Your progress is amazing and is obviously the result of hard work, self-disicpline and sacrifice. You are living proof of what someone can do if they are serious about adopting fitness and nutrition as a way of life. I look forward to reading/seeing your updated progress.
