SUN 6/4, Day 14: 178.6 lbs, 22.1% bf (6/3 nutrition not tracked, 126 bs avg)

RUN: 55.02 min, 5.30 mi @ 10.22mi (HR not recorded)

Up in PA for #1 Son's Graduation Weekend. Yesterday was the Baccalaurate Mass, and we went out to dinner afterwards.

I had a nice wedge salad and an order of chicken wings, so I pretty much stayed on plan. Then we came home and I had a piece of cake.

Just wandered around the neighborhood here today on my run... nothing special to report about that, except that I got it done.

Graduation ceremonies are today at 1pm, after which I plan to go to the casino and have a few drinks.

Thanks. Here's the numbers on the Keto diet so far (two weeks)...

Four pounds lost... two pounds of which was fat. Lost almost a full percent (from 22.5% to 21.7%).

I'm really excited about this progress... I hope to be down below 20% in the next week or so.

I've also cut my blood sugar readings almost in half, from an average of 230 to around 125.

Graduation went smoothly, and he's in Ocean City MD for the week, sharing a house with eight of his friends.

His girlfriend (he took her to the prom as a friend, and within a week after that, they were "dating") is in a house a few doors down.

And the little bastard took all my beer with him, along with ten bottles of wine and a few Fireball shooters. That's my boy :madpimp:

    TUE 6/6, Day 16: 181.0 lbs, 20.5% bf (6/5 1756 cal, 28.5% p / 6% c / 65.5% f, 146.5 bs avg)

BIKE: 54.45 min, 12.5 mi @ 13.74 mph (HR not tracked)

With graduation and all on Sunday (along with a five mile run) I didn't drink enough fluids, so yesterday when I got caught up I barely eliminated any of it, and I'm definitely holding water right now. That probably affected my blood sugar readings as well as my weight/body fat ratio, but all in all, I'm still really happy with my progress.

Thanks Paulie. I told him before he left, "Nothing permanent... arrest record, tattoos, or pregnancies."

P.S. I just found out that today is Global Running Day... glad I got out there for a few miles this morning.

    THURS 6/8, Day 18: 179.0 lbs, 21.7% bf (6/7 2148 cal, 28% p / 7% c / 65% f, 127 bs avg)

    BIKE: 53.10 min, 11.19 mi @ 12.68 mph (123 HR)

After I ran yesterday, I spent about four hours digging a hole... a very big hole.

That's the start of a pathway... about 30' long, 32" wide, and 3-4" deep. I excavated it all by hand, and then hauled it across the property and spread it out to fill in low spots on my land. Next step is to put down the liner and edging, then (once it's delivered) spread 2000lbs of pea gravel... and then do it all again, as that's only half of the finished length. Talk about functional fitness... I was cooked.

Fortunately, I had misread the schedule at work, and it turned out I had the whole day off and not just the morning. So after chilling out and watching a movie, I spent the rest of the evening cleaning out my closet and clothes, organizing what I was keeping and tossing a lot of my larger sized items.

I also couldn't get enough food in... I was just hungry, and my nutrition plan didn't have a lot of wiggle room. But I slept well, and woke up ready to go for my bike ride... but I didn't have the leg drive to put up a good speed for the hour that I spent riding. But I got it done...

Thanks Mac. He returned home safely last night with no long-term effects. He leaves for the Firefly music festival in Dover on Wednesday for another long weekend of partying. Ah, to be eighteen again...

SUN 6/11, Day 21: 176.6 lbs, 21.6% bf (6/10 nutrition not tracked, 112.33 bs avg)

Worked another 12+ hour day yesterday. The inn where I recently started was hosting a wedding, so I was "on duty" from 3p-midnight. This consisted of brief bursts of activity followed by long stretches of watching the guests have a good time. I got to do everything from pouring champagne to clearing tables and restocking the bars to emptying the trash.

As a result, I decided not to do my long run this morning (I have to be back at 8a to put away tables etc) since I don't have to work (for someone else) until 3pm tomorrow. I do plan to get back to the path project, unless my son (who is now here for the summer) wants to do something fun.

MON 6/12, Day 22: 177.2 lbs, 19.7% bf (6/11 nutrition not tracked, 134.33 bs avg)

Planned run for today is out the window, as that ton of stone I mentioned last week will be delivered any minute, which means that for the next two unbearably hot and humid days, I will be hauling pebbles around and dumping them into a trench.

In other news, I had another good week last week. Weight was down another 1.3lbs, for a total of 5.2lbs in three weeks. Even better, BF% dropped .7%, so I've lost a total of 1.5% (or 3.7lbs) of fat. My blood sugar dropped another ten points or so, and I am now around 125 on average throughout the week. As a reference, the American Diabetes Association advises keeping blood sugar levels (for diabetics) before meals (which is when I measure) from 80–130.
And if you noticed, today's BF% was under 20... :thanks:
