Sisco's famous for partials. His whole strength routine is based on them.

For the people saying it was poor range of motion...I ask you this...was it even a motion? I don't think his son did a single thing. He shook his legs and grunted a little. And then you get the whole, "Get this strong in 45 seconds!" I can get strong enough to do nothing in 45 seconds, too. I'll give them credit for supporting that much weight on their legs, but support is all they did.

Exactly, that's just a Robertson leg press.

Pete Sisco has benefitted greatly from the truth about PT Barnum's observation of "a sucker every minute". His "Power Factor Training" (aka mid-80s crapola) will now attract a whole new generation of people who will get fantastic results at static holds but not much of anything else. A triumph of marketing, and a consumer base that doesn't know the history of the "biz"...like a merry-go-round, watch it long enough, and it comes around again...

Much akin with the supplement industry. I recently browsed through a catalog from a supplement discount wholesaler and was absolutely stunned at the thousands of hyped up supplements offered. 95% of which are total ripoffs and garbage. OTC fat burners being one of my "favorite" supps to rag on ....saw an add in a muscle mag the other day advertising Lipo 6 with IFBB Pro's Mark Dugdale and Marcus Roid singing the praises of how LIpo 6 got them ripped for their competitions. Riiiiiiiiight

I'm embarrassed that this horseshit was even posted on my forum, especially as a serious topic in the Weight Training forum.

Moving to "off-topic" because this is comedy, and has nothing to do with weight training.

I like his comment about the barber pole and the whole "GO TO MY WEBSITE TO FIND OUT!" :nono:

There's no doubt in my mind zen, that you can get 5 deep reps with the car with one leg while sitting on an inverted bosu ball. :tucool:

The 'Robertson' Press? So Pat made a contribution to the iron game after all, huh....

    A partial is a partial...you can't fault Sisco there....

Wouldn't want to build my whole weightlifting routine around partials though.

I think Coleman can do 'em around that weight too.

The supplement industry has gotten worse with the proliferation of supplements, especially the marketing to "civilians" - I remember a couple years back when GH enhancers were the "much-touted" (AKA "much-advertised") supplement, and two years after they flopped in the weight rooms, they were being marketed to suburban housewives as anti-aging supplements...
...of course there is always a steady stream of teenagers to spend their paper route money on the latest version of "Hot Stuff"...:spank:
