Went for a walk today. Walked 2 miles. Eating is good. Tonight I'm being bad. Having a couple of adult beverages and some jellie beans.
I'm still working out a gym plan to do. Probably will be a full body, 3 times a week. Including 5 minutes of abs before starting. And a 1/4 mile warm up and cool down on the treadmill or bike. Maybe I'll start monday. We'll see.

I'll join you in an adult beverage so you're not alone. ;)

Don't overthink what you're going to be doing in the gym. It's been a while so anything you consistently stick with will be beneficial. FWIW, I don't think you can go wrong with a full body workout 3 times a week.

I'll drink to that. :-) :-) I dont like switching plans. I also like a 4 day split. Being retired allows a more time consuming plan. I may go with the 3 day full body until I find something I like more.
I also want to keep running a bit.
Keep tuning in for new developments.:-) :-)

Good luck at the gym tomorrow. I prefer a four day split, but my classes have forced a three day full body program and I think it's actually allowing me to grow and gain strength and size.

    Thanksgiving 2013,

Have company all week and haven't posted up here. Yesterday I went to the gym for the first time in a long time. Been working on a plan. Finally decided on a four day split. I did squats, deads, lunges, leg curls, and standing calf raises. 20 sets. Also warmed up and cooled down with 1/4 miles. And did 5 minutes of abs.

Today I ate. But only 1 beer, and 1 slice of pie, along with the traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

I gained 10 pounds while taking care of my house problems in MD. I expect I'll needed 10 weeks to lose it. None of my clothes fit. I am motivated.

A pound a week = very doable. Good luck with it.

Are you back in the Sunshine state? If not did you join a gym in MD?

Good luck with your weight loss. 1 pound a week is achievable if you are motivated.

    Happy Hanukkah.

Yesterday I ate well, played an hour of tennis (doubles), and ran 2.5 miles.

Today I plan on a lackadaisical day of football and Walking Dead tonight. Eating will be okay.

Have had three killer days of DOMS so far. Tomorrow I'll start the 4 day split in the gym. MT, TF.

I like your optimism. I don't know if the day nutritionally will be okay for sure until it is 12:01 am of the next day.

Went to the gym today. I did the same workout as last Wednesday and had some trouble repeating the same movements. I was still feeling the effects of DOMS and almost fell wehn getting off the treadmill at cool down.
Eating is okay. No snacks and good food choices and portions. Except for the Denny's Value Slam I got at lunch. Pancakes and syrup were my downfall. Finally got back to drinking my BCAAs, Protein powder, and Creatine.
Tomorrow I do my first upper body workout in 3 months. I expect to not lift my arms for a couple of days afterwards.
Off topic. Did anyone see the mid-season finale of The Walking Dead? *** SPOILER ALERT*** I was blown away. The tension you could cut with a knife. Finally after 3 weeks of The Governor's story they came back to the prison and Rick's group and the Governor's group fought it out. A lot of good people died. The ending was cathartic, I thought.
