    kris0685,

You sound like an ectomorph or hardgainer. Are you looking to gain muscle? What routine are you following now?

I just started 3 months ago...started at 115 pounds so I've gained 16 pounds so far. I'm following a beginner program I found in a book called "The Book of Muscle" by Ian King. I'm on a two day spilt (upper one day and lower the next). I workout 3 times a week. If you have any suggestions that might help they would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Chris

    Chris,
Sounds like your headed on the right track. As long as you are gaining, joints feel good, and you don't feel overtrained keep doing what your doing. Ian king is very well respected trainer. I would keep doing what your doing.

Below is an example mass workout. 4 heavy sets for 4-8 reps each.

    Wednesday (legs, abs)
    Heavy Squats, leg extension superset
Seated Calve Raises, 4 strips sets
    Crunches (4 sets of 20)

    Friday (chest, shoulder, triceps, abs)
Flat bench press, incline dumbbell flyes superset
    Shoulder press, side raises superset
    Tricep pushdowns
Reverse incline leg raises (3 sets of 20)

    Sunday (back, biceps, abs)
Wide grip pull-ups, latbar pulldown superset
EZ bar bicep curl, incline dumbbell curls superset
    Crunches (4 sets of 20)

This is a good program for skinny guys. I am following something similar right now.

    Heya!

I'd be keen to take you up on a challenge. Here's my stats (as of today):

    17 Years Old
    6"3 (191cm)
    246lbs (112kg)
    26% body fat (rough estimate)

My goal is to reach 220lbs (100kg) by March 1st, 2005. I too have been working at my weight for the last month, have dropped approximately 9lbs (4kg).

Let me know if you're up for it!

    Ashley.

    Hey,

I just joined up and I'd be up for forming a group:

    42 years old
    5'11" (180 cm)
    220 lbs (100 kg)
32% fat ( as calculated by a Tanita bodyfat scale)

I just gained 10 lbs over the holidays after stopping all exercise on November 5th. (I ran the NYC Marathon and injured myself partially because I was too heavy)

I'm a lot like Krosspyder...... between endo and mesomorph with most of my fat in the gut/butt region. My ultimate goal is to get below 10% body fat and to see my stomach muscles.(8 pack) My immediate goal is to get under 200 lbs and 20% fat by April 1st. I intend to lose between 1 and 2 pounds of fat a week.

Please let me know if you guys are up for a group.

    Thanks,

    Boodah

I'm up for it! How about you Krosspyder?

I too store fat mostly in my stomach/lower body region.

    Let's do it! :claplow:

    Our "little" group

I don't really know, since I'm new here, but a quick perusal of some of the other challenges makes it seem like we need to talk to each other, establish a timeframe with goals and then start a challenge thread for the rest of this community to see. Judging from a few of the other threads i looked at, we can post our stats and pics or just stats. Then all we have to do is post to the thread regularly to check each other's progress and spur each other on...... I'm going to try to use the Private Message feature to contact you guys.

Anybody want to join me for a challenge?

My last challenge kind of ran out of gas, but I did meet my goals. Now, I've had the holidays and the post-holiday recovery and would like to get back into it.

    5'11"
    182 lbs
Probably ~20%BF (hopefully, that's an estimate on the high side, but no point in lowballing it)
Looking to try to see the abs for summer, aiming for ~10%

That would be an ~18 pound cut if it was pure fat (which it won't be, I know, but it's the ideal) - so I'd get down to 164. In 18 weeks, it'll be the end of May. I want to see how close to 10% I can get by June.

This is the proverbial "hard cut" - I was losing tons of weight fairly easily, because I was obese - now I'm at the point where it is no longer easy to lose fat, and to get farther, I'm going to have to micromanage more. I could sure use the extra motivation.

Anybody in a similar situation and want to bring it on?

PeteBDawg, I will do it, it would be my first challenge. I have cut for about 6 months now, and I am on track for my original goal. Here are my stats.

    starting:
    6'5"
    256lbs
    ~30%BF
    at 9/18/04

    current:
    6'5"
    219lbs
    ~20% BF
    at 02/01/05

    goal:
    6'5"
    197lbs - 202lbs
    ~10% BF
    by 06/03/05

I too have been on an easy cut thus far, but I anticipate it becoming harder. I would like a little encouragement/motivation and some help. I think this is doable for me, as 4 months * 4 weeks = 16 weeks * 1.5lbs per week = 24lbs, well over the 17lbs - 22lbs I want to lose. PM if this is acceptable.

I cut (extremely dirty) from 196 to 158... I'm about 13-14% BF now... anyone else in this range looking to get motivated for that "last push" to below 10%?
