No Missed Workouts in January

    A lot of us were inspired by (and had fun with!) the December challenge...anybody up for another?

    Here's how I suggest we start: post the number of workouts you plan on doing in January, and every time you complete one, make another entry reminding us (and yourself!) as to how far you've come!

    If you like, add a goal for the end of the month. For example, pounds or inches lost; maximum lift; arm size; or whatever you want.

    Here's mine:
    I plan on working out 21 times this month (Mon-Fri each week, excluding New Year's Day).

    End-of-month goal:
    Lose 5 more pounds of fat and 1.5 inches around the waist.

    Today's workout (weights and cardio): done.
    Workouts complete: 1/1
    Workouts to go: 20

    21 Workouts this month.

    I'm on a four day split finishing a bulk until Jan. 15. After two days of rest, I'm going to start cutting cals and on the 18th start a 3 day split plus 3 days HIIT per week, totaling 21. This is a great idea!

    Okay--finally a full week of workouts to look forward to!

    Bad news folks. I hurt my back a couple of weeks ago, and it hasn't gotten better. If you care to read more about it check out this thread: http://forums.johnstonefitness.com/showthread.php?t=45833

    Long story short, I'm taking at LEAST this week and probably next week off from the gym until I recover. Thus, my total number for January will be 13 (one of them already completed on Jan. 3) as opposed to the original 21. It sucks and I'm really pissed about it, but I'd rather take two weeks off now than keep working and hurt myself even further. Hopefully this doesn't impact my goals too much.

    Sorry to hear about your back--hope you feel better soon.

    To your credit--simply adjusting your goals, not giving up. You'll be back before you know it! Good luck!

    Thanks very much! I love how supportive this site is. Without it, I probably wouldn't take these two weeks off and end up even more injured. And if I did take it off, I'd be far more likely to fall off the wagon completely. But because of this site I know that's just not going to happen.

    jdb Im up for a challenge. I just started training this month but have done good. I have already done 8/15 days so far so I will commit to 20 days this month leaving me 12 more days of exercise.
