Max one arm DB snatch

    This is a fun one, as it requires a fair amount of power and technique. Not sure what a reasonable target would be in terms of BW.. I think 1/2 BW is too low, but 2/3 would be really tough. Can anyone do 2/3?

    I don't know about with a dumbbell, but I'm probably in the 55-60% range one-armed with a barbell. I did a couple light ones last week while cleaning up my platform and I've fooled with them in the past. With a barbell, the ROM is shorter and the weight stays closer, so it's a bit different obviously.

    Nice! I can only build 105lb dumbbells with my plates, limited by the length of the handles. That would be 5 tens on each side, with barely enough room for the clip. I might have to try the barbell. The larger diameter will make it harder to snatch with one hand I'm sure. Grip might be the limiting factor to generating enough momentum out of the hole. I'll give it a go tonight!

    BW: 89.6 kg, so ~55% and quite messy. These are not very fun when they aren't light. :lol: With that said, I can see a number of things I could change that might make the pull and catch easier. I doubt I'd get any more pounds out of it though. This is more of the kind of lift you do with friends when you've had too much to drink. :o

    you don't catch it nearly as low as i woulda guessed.

    Good lord! If I didn't kill myself trying one of those, I'd likely kill someone else. At the very least, I'd take out half of the gym equipment in a ' radius.

    got a few singles in with a 50 lb db today. that's about 40% bw.

    goal is to get the 65 up by the end of next month and hit 50% bw.
