Well I've at least narrowed your location to North of Watford.

For a couple of years I had a thing about being shredded, mainly because I'd never looked like that before. My total focus is now gaining weight without the fat for Competative Sailing. My goal this year is to be 160lbs with a 28 - 30" waist, which isn't very thin considering I had a 25.5inch waist in that photo. My overall goal is 170lbs with a similar waist, which will be about right for full rig Laser Sailing.

I couldn't use the volume - how old is she??

Well, I'm not sure what you mean by 'useful' but they have been 'useful' in the past.. and there are many millions of people who still live in these areas north of Watford.

I don't particulary want to start a North South divide argument here. We all love each other really. Anyway half my family live very north and I'd rather live much further south, preferably on a yacht in the Med!

    TODAY - BACK & TRAPS

    Deadlifts: 4 x 12 x 110kg (242lbs) (Pulled off 10 on the last, 2 up on last week!)

    (SP) Pull Ups: 4 x 10 (ish)
(SP) Lat Pull Down (wide grip): 4 x 12 x 35kg (5kg up on last week)

    (SP) Shrug: 4 x 12 x 98.5kg (+4kg on last week)
    (SP) Upward Row: 4 x 12 x 28.5kg

New "beefy" bar arrived today! I LOVE IT! Grip is so much better and it feels very comfortable to use. I can see this being the last bar I'll ever need to buy and I would strongly recommend it to anyone who doesn't want the cost of upgrading up to Olympic plates. I felt much more comfortable using it, especially on the deadlifts. I had definatley outgrown my old bar.

I WAS ONLY JOKING ABOUT THE NORTH/SOUTH SPLIT.

We need to stick up for ourselves against the Yanks...:D

    [waits for flame]

Damn, I know the US beats the UK for equipment but that beefy bar cost you what?30 quid. Here they are all horrible quality and near enough 50 quid.

The other day I went to buy 120 kilos of weights [265 lbs]

The guy just handed me 12 boxes with the 10Kilo weights and just stared at me. I was like '???' He said 'get a cab.' My jaw hit the floor. Ended up playing dumb foreigner until it was delivered :D

Can't even find a damn body measuring tape here, let alone steel weights. Ahhh.

Akira what's your DL aim for this year?

I'm stuck at exactly 300 lbs[141Kilos] and I'm aiming to get it up to about 450. Think I might be having a fucking laugh on that one though.

9.9 kg bar !! that explains it !! our gym has a 20kg bar and the smallest plates are 1.25 kg and sometimes it gets tricky increasing the weight as smallest jump is 2.5kg.

Kudos to u  im trying to do that also sticking to more wholesome
nutritious repetive foods . even though people think im weird when i start mixing up cottage cheese and peanut butter for a healthy snack !!

Unfortunately it's not Will Power, it's just that I'm very boring and would be quite happy eating exactly the same food, wearing exactly the same clothes and doing exactly the same repepative things every day. My wife just thinks I weird, and I have to agree with her!

    AK...she's 74

I'm with you about doing the same thing everyday. I like my routine and following a planned diet. I also eat the same things everyday. Having a routine frees up some space in my clogged up brain. It means there's a few less things to think about make decisions on. Nothing wrong with boring.

I'm always going on about the benefits of having a strict routine. I believe it's the corner stone of success. It also gives you a sense of secirty, control and, as you said, frees up the mind.

As a parent bringing up my 2 boys it makes everything so much easier for them and me. I spend each school morning saying, "OK it's eating food time", or "OK it's getting dressed time" or "OK it's crossing road time" etc. Then, if they're saying they don't want to go to school for any particular reason the routine just "kicks in". They've never been even a minute late for school since they started 4 years ago.

It works the same for eating, training and just about everything else. If you sleep, work, eat and train at exactly the same time with minimal deviation, it makes anything possible.

My wife doesn't follow this philosophy and spends her entire life being late. I guess it takes a certain mindset.

Weight 155lbs (-0.5lbs since last week)

I've stopped gaining and need to introduce something else into my diet.

    TODAY - LEGS

    Squats: 4 x 12 x 85kg (187lbs) (32lbs more than body weight) - 12 on the last - didn't fail! FOUR MORE THAN LAST WEEK!!!

    Standing Calf Raise: 4 x 15 x 127kg (EVERY SINGLE PLATE I'VE GOT!)

    Leg Extensions: 4 x 12 x 60kg

    Reverse Leg Extensions: 4 x 12 x 36.5kg (up 1.25kg on last week)

Another good leg set - I'm loving my new squat rack and bar - couldn't believe I did 12 on the last set of squats  and will now need to add more for next time!

I can't quite believe that next week I'm going to be squating very close to 200lbs! 198.4lbs to be exact - that's nearly one and a half of... me!

When I pick up weights these days I have to keep saying to myself, "I AM the Hulk!"

Because if I don't, all I hear is that other voice saying, "There's no bloody way you're picking that lot up!"
