Well I'm going to try this again. I will not miss a workout this month. I will eat mostly clean. For diet if I say diet was bad it means I ate alot of candy or junk. If it is ok then I had some junk or fast food but I did not overdo it. It is good, then no junk for that day.

I will be taking progress pictures and posting them. I will post the first set soon and will have the picture from last year as a comparison.

I won't update the journal everday but will update it at least 2x a week.

Monday was push day. Diet was ok but not perfect.

Was wondering where you've been. Once you get on track you will want to clean up the diet. Looking for photos.

    I can't see the pics.
track what you eat, if not here then have a notebook with you at all time. when you see how much food or candy or junk you had, when you see it on paper it will make you want to reduce the junk stuff and improve the diet with clean food. trust me on that. it's a simple 'self-control' tool.

Yes, For the next couple of months. For my marathon training plan, my running milage won't start to get high again until July. So I want to add as much muscle as I can. I'm wanting to bulk but want to eat healthful foods not just increase my calories. Hopefully I can gain more muscle than fat.

So far this week, diet has been ok. Still eating the "fun" size candy bars in the office candy jar but only two a day. Next week I will eliminate those altogether.

Time to go do my pulls.

Sunday did a 3 miler. Monday was push day. Heading out for another 3 miler. Diet was ok over the weekend. Yesterday was bad. I had a lunch meeting where there was cakes, brownies and cookies brought in for desert.

Today I will be stopping at the store on the way to work to pick up my snacks for the week. Fruit, protein bars, and beef jerky. That should help me stay out of the candy jar at work. I'm allowed 300 calories per snack. One mid morning and one mid afternoon.

My weight lifting program is from this article I found on the web:

    http://oldschooltrainer.com/3-day-push-pull-legs/

    I am doing it as a 3 x 8 plus warm ups.

    The exercises I use are

Push: bb bench, db incline fly, db curl and overhead press, chair dips
    Leg: squat, lunge, calf raises
Pull: deadlift, bb rows, pullups alternating with chinups

My running program is the jeff galloway "to finish a marathon" program.

    edit: I forgot my dips

Looks like you hit all of the major lifts. How does that work with you're schedule, going every other day?

Schedule is Monday are push, Wed are legs, and Fridays are pulls. Tue & Thurdays are shorter maintenance runs and Sundays are my long runs.

Diet this week has not been that good. Started with dessert at lunch on monday, Tuesday was girl scout cookies and Thursday was donut day at the office. No one forced me to eat those things but I could not avoid them. Although I ate crap, I stayed close to my calorie goal each day so I guess overall I am still doing ok.

Time to go do my pulls. Deadlifts yay.

Diet was pretty good over the weekend. I did have dessert saturday night though.

5 mile run on sunday. Pushes this morning. Diet was good today. No soda or candy.

My calves are pretty sore from sunday's run. I will run tomorrow but I might not do the 4 miles I had planned. I may cut it down to either 2 or 3 depending on how I feel once I am out the door.

Woke up tuesday with a sore back. It was too sore to run or lift for the rest of the week. Wish I knew what I keep doing to it.

By Friday I was feeling good enough to get a nice walk in. Sunday did a five mile run. Yesterday was pushes. I'm heading out for my Tuesday run now.

Diet has been ok. I had a soda on sunday and one yesterday. I've managed to avoid the candy jar at the office. If I can eliminate the soda and candy from my diet I will be doing great.

Made all my workouts last week. Diet was ok. I ran out of healthy snacks at the office on tuesday and hit the candy jar in the afternoon. Went shoppin for snacks and was back on track on Wed.

Did my 5 mile run yesterday. I'm still at my shore house today. I'm going to do pushups and chair dips this morning since I don't have weights here.

    Happy Memorial Day everyone.
