    Thanks.

As long as its normal I'm happy....because I see very good progress.

I think I'm at the point where I could never quit this new lifestyle. It just feels too damn good!

We've been doing this for 2 months now, and I am not happy with where I'm at. The last few weeks has been good progress. This week especially. My average comes to 186.3. I climbing out of the hole again!

However this weekend is going to be hard. The bane of my fitness goals is traveling. We're driving to Northern NJ to stay with the inlaws. Which means I will have food offered to me every 5 minutes. In addition, we will be going to the ultimate food gorging event: The Filipino Wedding. Most people are stoked about the open bar at weddings, but filipinos are all about the food. The first couple ones I went to, I was stuffed, completely stuffed, partway through the cocktail hour. That's right this is no little pat-te on bread, they have things like sushi, pasta, raw bar, carving stations of beef, ham, turkey.

Anyway I'll need help this weekend. I don't want to ruin the last 2 weeks. One thing I am thinking of doing is not eating at my 5-6 meal times. The food is usually available twice a day at my inlaws and since it will be very rich salty fatty juicy food, I think I'll just not eat otherwise. Or minimally. Please send me positive thoughts.

I purchased a new digital scale. I have apparently been "cheating" my old scale, because my readings are up to 5 pounds heavier on my new digital scale. I attribute this to finding the sweet spot on the old scale to get the lightest weight. On my new digital scale, there is no cheating....just the dirty, harsh truth.

So I did a little calibrating this morning. On my old scale, trying to stand as heavy on it as I could, I weighed in at 268. On my digital scale, I came in at 273. So, GH, I don't know how exactly this should be handled, but I was hoping that I could resubmit my starting weight as 280, and use my digital readings from now on.

    So, given that:

    Start: 280
    Now: 273
    Goal: 260

You made the chart early! [IMG]

I'm not satisfied with my progress either, but life has been very good this summer. I have not felt deprived in the slightest and have not gotten any strange looks from my friends about my lifestyle.

When you factor that in, the fact that I am making steady progress is totally worth it.

I can't really do much more....so if the progress is this slow, so be it.

I'm happy with my life as well....summer is better than ever...so I'll take it as it comes.

I can just stick to my plan.

Well, keep it up this week and you'll get it on the next one ;) I posted it Friday morning, because I knew I'd be going away weekend.

Hey that movie had a happy ending, so don't give up. Take a look at what you are doing. Are you really giving it your all? Do you really want it to happen? As John Stone scenario-ed, are you doing everything that you would be doing if someone offered you $1 million to lose 18 more pounds in a reasonable time, say 3 months?

Thanks jedi. I definitely did a pretty good job. There was no loss of control. I did not stiff myself at the wedding. I definitely ate more than normal and different things, but I was not at all stuffed. I also avoided any horrible traveling rest stop food. We'll see the damage tomorrow, but I know that it was a mental victory for me..

    Strange....yesterday I was 223 exactly.

    This morning I'm 243.

I've had 2 long nights now....problems at work so I had to work 18 hour shifts to get everything fixed. That means I was in bed at 3 in the morning....up at 7 again. Is that the reason?

I assume it has something to do with water....so I'm not really worried.

No way on earth I gained 20 lbs overnight....and I've been eating good, exercising like crazy....and I feel good.

Ive done close to 10lb swings due to certain circumstances but never 20. That seems like a mistake.

My brother was on it this morning....he weighed in at what he usually does.

Is there any possible way on earth you could have a 20 lb gain in one night?

What happened to jk0? I thought he'd be at 30 pounds by now...or has he been eating too many bratwursts since returning to Wisconsin?
