    Running / walking today: 1.54; w-t-d: 1.54; m-t-d: 8.85

Sun - 2/11/18. back, abs, 15 treadmill, 25+15 minutes sauna. m-t-d workouts: 7/11. Today was the closest thing yet to a normal workout since I got sick last Saturday. I started to think if I didn't get back on the treadmill today, I might never run again. The only good thing to come of this is that for my scale weight today, my weight was 188.20. That is a 7 pound loss from 1/1/18. I lost my appetite when I got sick, and it still hasn't returned fully. I am sure when it does, it will come back with a vengeance, and the weight will come back with it. I got to say, running today 7 pounds lighter, felt better. Hopefully if I do gain the weight back, I can lose it again. Tomorrow I hope to train arms.

Mon - 2/12/18. arms, abs, 30 minutes sauna. m-t-d workouts: 8/12. Had some gastrointestinal issues this morning, so I skipped my after workout Larabar, and I am skipping the almonds I usually have when I get to work, and no coffee today. No food until tonight at the earliest. Stomach still feels uneasy, but I felt worse before I spent time in the sauna. Tomorrow I hope to train shoulders.

Thank you. I still feel rundown, and have a cough.

    Running / walking today: 3.44; w-t-d: 4.98; m-t-d: 12.29

Weds - 2/14/18. 35 stairmaster; 35 treadmill, 20 minutes sauna. m-t-d workouts: 10/14. I can't say I had the best run today, but I felt good after I was done. Since I got sick, I lost my taste for coffee. In about 10 days, I have only had one cup of coffee. I lost my taste for it, the thought of drinking it is unappealing. On the other hand, when I got sick, I bought (5) 2 liter bottles of diet soda. I finished the last one yesterday. I got to say, I enjoyed that diet soda, and I am going to buy more. :) Tomorrow I am going to train back (abbreviated workout), and spend some more time on the stair master.

Just a reminder that tomorrow is the last day for you to register and be guaranteed a NYC Marathon entry.

Thank you. I registered yesterday. I was on the fence, but I think I would have regretted not running. The window is closing for me on running marathons, so I was thinking I should continue while I can still run them.

Sat - 2/17/18. chest; abs, 20 treadmill; 30+10 minutes sauna. m-t-d workouts: 13/17. Tomorrow I hope to train back, abs & run. That is unless the snow tomorrow spoils that plan. I think they say 2-5 inches. Most likely I will go, but maybe the gym won't open. I had a good workout today, right up until the end. I go in the sauna for an extra 10 minutes, right when I get up after 10 minutes goes by, I get a sharp pain in my bicep. They say pain in the arm is a sign of a heart attack (which is why I was concerned), but I don't know if they are talking about the bicep. It lasted for about 10 minutes, then went away. I was hoping to not gain weight from when I was sick, or to lose even more weight. Last Sunday I weighed 188.20, today I weighed 191.7 (but that was with about a pound of clothes on). I hope to be in the 180's tomorrow when I do the official weigh in and measurements. I want to get to 185, and stay at that weight for a few weeks, so my body gets used to that weight.

Was it your left arm? That is the arm which is a sign of a heart attach. There are other signs too so if my arm hurts and I have no other symptoms I just assume it is just a muscle thing.

Yes, left arm. :scared: After I thought about it, and I think it was a muscle soreness. It happened as I was getting up from the sauna bench. I pushed with my arm when I got up, maybe that was the cause.

    Running / walking today: 2.56; w-t-d: 4.64; m-t-d: 16.93

Sun - 2/18/18. back; abs, 15+10 treadmill; 25+10 minutes sauna. m-t-d workouts: 14/18. We did get more snow than anticipated, but it is in the 40's today, and will be warm the next 2 days. So I am counting on the sun to clear the driveway. I just shoveled where they plowed the street at the end of my driveway. It was about 7-8 inches, already when I left for the gym about 11:00 am, it condensed to about 3 inches. My weight was 191 today, a little disappointing, I will just have to work harder (and smarter) to get to 185.

I think I almost was attacked in Manhattan on my way home from work Friday. On 7th Avenue, at 40th Street, they have these guys trying to sell CD's of Hip Hop music. They bother mostly younger people and tourists. I normally don't make eye contact with them, and just ignore them. This time, this guy must have been talking to me, and I ignored him, and he got angry, yelling, and getting louder and louder "I am talking to you", he said over and over, and I could feel his energy as he was following me trying to reach me. I started to walk faster, and lucky for me, all of a sudden that area got very crowded, there were a lot of people between him and myself, and I lost him. Going forward, I am never walking on the West side of 7th Avenue between 39th and 40th Street.

Thank you. I was scared. NYC has a big underclass of people. Also they don't enforce the laws. It is not legal to sell CD's on the street, yet these people are there virtually everyday. I am sure in NYC, they have no loitering laws, yet every loser in creation is standing in front of the Port Authority bus terminal 24/7.

Mon - 2/19/18. arm training, 20+15 treadmill; 25+15 minutes sauna. m-t-d workouts: 15/19. When I got home from yesterday, the snow on the driveway was completely melted. It makes a big difference having the driveway with a southern exposure. The people who live across the street didn't shovel, yet their driveway still has snow on it. Tomorrow I hope to train shoulders, if not, run.

I understand being lenient on loitering. Basically all homeless people are loitering. Until we take care of our own I give them a pass. I feel the same with the guys selling CD's and other stuff. At least they are trying to make a living. I don't understand the guy who harassed you for walking by. He needs to be a "professional" and realize most people are not buying.

I respect your opinion, but I couldn't disagree more. When Gulliani became mayor of NYC, he focused on quality of life issues, minor crimes, and that was credited with turning NYC around from the crime ridden place it was before he was mayor.

Last year, February was my lowest mileage month in 2017 @ roughly 50 miles. This year, I will be lucky to reach half that. :(

Friday - 2/23/18. leg training, abs, 25 minutes sauna. m-t-d workouts: 18/23. My knees have been bothering me this week. I thought I might have a problem with leg training today, but no issue. They feel better today. I did find out something interesting from the new rheumatologist that I am going to. He said I have osteoarthritis in knees. I always wondered, why can't I squat deep, even with no plates on the bar, I just can't squat deep. Now I know the reason. Tomorrow I hope to train chest, and try running again. TGIF.

Thurs nutrition: Forgot to bring with me, but I think the calories were 2,747.
