I am mostly afraid to shed clothing, since I think, what if it gets colder later, then I will be sorry.

    Running / walking today: 0.00; w-t-d: 0.00; m-t-d: 28.34

Sat - 7/15/17. back, abs, 30+20 sauna. m-t-d workouts: 15/15. Good back training workout. If I had my official weekly weigh in today, I would have lost about 3 pounds. But I gained weight the last 3 or 4 weigh in's, so it is about time. Today at the pool, they had a DJ, mainly for the little kids. Since I am old now, I found it very loud, and hard to concentrate on the book I am reading, so after getting my 2 hour dose of vitamin D, I left. I just finished reading "In My Own Words", by Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. It was interesting, but I was expecting more of a biography, not mostly a series of her speeches. But it did give me a better understanding of how the Supreme Court works, the rules of the Supreme Court, how cases are chosen etc. You don't realize how accomplished someone at that level is.

Sun - 7/16/17. leg training, 30+15 sauna. m-t-d workouts: 16/16. Strong leg training workout. I am off from work tomorrow, so if the long run is happening this week, it is happening tomorrow. I had a high sodium day yesterday, but still was able to lose 2.80 pounds from the prior weigh in a week ago. Without the salt, the results would have been better. On the bright side, that will make next weeks comparison easier.

Weds - 7/19/17. shoulders; triceps, abs, 30 sauna. m-t-d workouts: 19/19. Tomorrow I hope to run. Once a month in this office, they celebrate the birthday's of the employees who have a birthday that month, with a cake in the boardroom. For me, one piece of cake is never an issue, it is when you eat a whole cake that is when it becomes a problem (which I have done). This time though, they also have a pinata, that turns out to be filled with chocolate. It was broken open early, and there was chocolate all over the floor. So yesterday, not only did I have the cake, but stuffed my face with chocolate also. :( Neither the cake or the chocolate show up in the below numbers. Only salvation was yesterday I ran 6.65 miles in the morning.

6.65 miles is a nice run.

I understand the birthday cake and Candy at the office. When they fill the candy bowl with chocolates at my office I can't stay away

This office actually has a candy closet of free candy (file drawer), and a chip vending machine. I have never succumbed to either (not once) in the years I have worked for this company. Knowing myself as well as I do, anytime I would get stressed, bored or tired, I would be running to the candy drawer, or the vending machine. Then I would spend the rest of the day thinking, how could I go back without anyone noticing.

Thurs - 7/20/17. 70 treadmill, 20 sauna. m-t-d workouts: 20/20. I felt really good running today. I am beginning to think I do have another marathon in me (slow marathon that is). I need to add a 3rd running day per week, and then scale up. The m-t-d of 43 miles in slightly under 3 weeks, I should be doing that per week in order to get ready. Issue is, I don't want to get injured, and I don't want to give up muscle gain. Everything is a tradeoff.

Friday - 7/21/17. chest; ab training, 25 sauna. m-t-d workouts: 21/21. Fairly good workout today. After, I went to the rheumatologist for an 8:00 am appointment, and just made it to the last express bus. :) I made it to NYC in no time today, apparently nobody works on Friday's in the summer, and there was zero traffic. Good blood pressure results today, 115/61. Why does an arthritis doctor take blood pressure and pulse is a good question. Tomorrow I hope to train back, abs. Happy Friday.

    That is awesome. Tremendous consistency.

I've always wondered why my dental hygienist takes my blood pressure before a cleaning. If I were having anesthesia, I could understand but for a routine cleaning?

Thank you. I am the king of consistency. :) I am on a steak of 67 days in a row of working out. Every day since 5/16/17.

I mentioned to someone about why does the doctor take blood pressure reading, when it is not related to what they are doing. She said that some do it as a screening, for people who don't go the doctor, and would otherwise not know they are walking around with high blood pressure. Sounds like a reasonable explanation.

Sat - 7/22/17. back; ab training, 20 minutes dreadmill, 30+15 sauna. m-t-d workouts: 22/22. Good workout today. I had on my new lifting gloves, which when you have arthritis in your fingers, are an important piece of equipment. Especially on back day, all "pull exercises" which requires a strong grip. Even though I am always disappointed when I expect weight loss on the scale, I expect to see it tomorrow (even though calories haven't been low). Today swimsuit was loose, and kept sliding down, and I won't be able to wear it anymore. Which I guess is a good problem to have. Tomorrow I hope to train legs, and maybe run.

Sun - 7/23/17. legs; ab training, 30+20 sauna. m-t-d workouts: 23/23. I am on a string of good workouts. I wasn't planning on training abs today, but my last exercise (seated calf raise), I was waiting for the machine (someone seated on it glued to their smart phone). So I thought, this stupid, I might as well make the wait productive, hence the ab training. So while I was annoyed at the person using the machine as a seat at the time, I should thank them for getting me to train abs today. I am off tomorrow, and hopefully will do the long run. I am taking off 7 Monday's in a row (through Labor day).:claphigh: I carried over 7 vacation days from last year, when I couldn't use the days at the end of the year when my supervisor was out due to a hip replacement. Unlike usual when I expect weight loss, and then see a weight gain, I did see a minor loss, 2/10 of a pound for the week. I eat too many calories, so I should not expect to see weight loss. I plan to make Weds a fast day for at least the rest of the summer, and see how that goes. Not a total fast, but just having the Larabar after working out, and peanuts when I get to work, and drink coffee during the day (nothing else).

Mon - 7/24/17. arms; ab training, 30 sauna. m-t-d workouts: 24/24. Didn't have a run in me today, but had a good arm training session. I am waiting at the Ford Dealer service center to get some recall work done. Something regarding the latch on the passenger side door. Also just this week, the foam thing around the window on the drivers side door started to fall off. So they are going to fix that also. Then I have to get my driver license renewed. I opened a Health Saving account, and they asked for a copy of my license. Lucky they did, since otherwise I would not have known that it expires on 7/31/17. They did send me a renewal notice 3 months ago, but at that time thought it was too early to get it renewed, then forgot all about it. Can't get it renewed online or by mail, have to go in person. At least it is raining today, so I am not wasting good weather getting these things done today. Hopefully I will run tomorrow.

Tues - 7/25/17. 73 treadmill, 15 sauna. m-t-d workouts: 25/25. Felt good running today. I got my license renewed yesterday, now I can drive legally for another 4 years. If the photo they took is accurate, I really did deteriorate during this last 8 year period, when comparing the prior photo (taken 8 years ago), and the photo on the new license. They ask if you want that photo, or to take it over again. I should have said, take it again, but didn't. But really, what is the difference, who sees my drivers license. Tomorrow I hope to train shoulders; abs.

Weds - 7/26/17. shoulders; triceps; abs, 30 sauna. m-t-d workouts: 26/26. Arrived at gym 4:49 today. Wanted to get there earlier, so I could leave earlier. Wasted effort though, I got to the park & ride earlier, all the buses were standing room only, so I ended up taking the bus I normally take. Tomorrow I am going to get there as early or earlier, but cut sauna to 15 minutes. I eat 1 pound of potatoes daily (358 calories) for the potassium. I avoided getting the potatoes at Costco, since each potato is huge. I was at the Costco Business Center, which they opened after a regular Costco moved to a different location. It is mainly for small businesses and restaurants, but roughly 50% is the same stuff in a regular Costco. Everything else is huge sizes. In a regular Costco, they sell potatoes in bags of 20 pounds. This Business Center, they sell a 50 pound bag. They sell 20 pounds for $10.00 (50 cents per lb) at a regular Costco, and 50 pounds are $15.00 (30 cents per lb). I didn't need potatoes, but I think next time I go there I will buy them. The good thing about the Business Center, it is not crowded like a normal Costco, and is easy to park. Tomorrow I plan to run.

That's a lot of potatoes. How do you prepare them for daily usage and do you do batches and reheat?

Congrats on the continuation of your exercise streak!

Always, microwaved baked potatoes with a little butter. That actually is my favorite food the whole day. On 2nd thought, I probably won't buy those potatoes at Costco, they are just too big. I want to eat no more than a pound a day. Each potato in bags that they had were easily over a pound. I only went to that Costco Business Center because it was on my way back from when I renewed my license. I had in the cart a 6 pound bag of pretzels , but came to my senses before I left, leaving the store without buying anything. I do like going there, I like seeing 25 gallon containers of vegetable oil, or 5 gallon containers of ketchup, 25 pound bag of carrots etc. I was hoping they had the Morningstar black bean burgers, since last time I was at the regular Costco they didn't have them, but no luck there either. Thanks about the streak.

Thurs - 7/27/17. 75 treadmill, 15 sauna. m-t-d workouts: 27/27. I was planning on the intermittent fasting on Wednesday's, but I realized that wouldn't work, since I wouldn't be able to run on Thursday if I didn't eat anything since 9:00 am the day before. I had a fairly good run today. Don't think I will be doing the intermittent fasting today either. Tomorrow I hope to train chest / abs.

Friday - 7/28/17. chest; abs; 15 sauna. m-t-d workouts: 28/28. Pretty good chest training day today. Hope to see some weight loss this weigh in on Sunday. Diet has improved of late. Today in the sauna, I am having a conversation with this guy about the Senate vote last night on Obamacare. The conversation moves to health insurance, and he asks "are you on medicare yet?" Do I look like I am 65+? Tomorrow I hope to train back; abs, and run for 15-20 minutes.

Was it a young guy? When you are young everyone looks old. In my 50s everyone under 80 look young
