    Running / walking today: 6.17; w-t-d: 12.84; m-t-d: 32.81

Mon - 6/12/17. 65 treadmill, 30 minutes sauna. m-t-d workouts: 12/12. It felt good to get the 65 minutes of running over today, and tomorrow I can train arms, abs. Now I have a 2 day rest before running again. :claphigh: Yesterday, after working out, and spending time at the pool, I stopped at a local street fair, which they have once a year. One vendor was selling the soft NYC type pretzels (or should I say Philly type soft pretzels, which they give out after finishing the Philly Marathon). They looked really good, not like the ones you see on the streets of NYC that the street vendors sell, which usually are stale, and have way too much salt. I was going to buy one, the guy calls out right before I walk over "5 for $5.00". I ask how much is one, he said $2.00. It seemed kind of stupid to pay $2.00 for just one, but on the other hand, if I bought 5, knowing myself I would have eaten 3 before I walked back to the car, and the other 2 before I drove home (easily 1,800+ calories). So I didn't buy any, and walked away empty handed.

    Sun calories: 3341

    Protein: 150 18%
    Fat: 130 35%
    Total 105%
    sodium: 4255

For 390 days, until 1/1/18, for food, only buying vegetables / fruit / nuts / protein. No processed food (except apple sauce), or grains (except oatmeal).

    Day 187 / 390

Food purchases made so far, not in above categories:

pasta, pasta sauce, wheat thins, peanut m&m's, potato pancake mix, chocolate bars, progresso soup, toblerone bars, popcorn, pretzels, Werthers Original hard candy (for my throat - when I was sick), Good & Plenty candy, Twizzlers, Poptarts, jelly beans.

Believe you can, believe you can't, either way you are correct.

Weds - 6/14/17. shoulders; abs, 30 minutes sauna. m-t-d workouts: 14/14. I wonder what happened to the Bodyforce gym equipment, that John Stone was supposed to receive and test out, and then review. No postings have been done in the gym equipment Titan Killer thread since June 4, 2016.

Thank you. I mistakenly read the date of the thread below that one. I wonder if a review from John Stone will be forthcoming.

Good to see you are still alive. What have you been doing?

    Running / walking today: 6.38; w-t-d: 19.22; m-t-d: 39.19

Thurs - 6/15/17. 66 treadmill, 30 minutes sauna. m-t-d workouts: 15/15. I started my marathon training today, increasing running time from 65 to 66 minutes.:) Maybe it is age, but I feel labored when running, I don't feel light on my feet, yet I weigh less now. I am reading the Whole Foods Diet, written by John Mackey and 2 other authors, he is the founder of Whole Foods Markets. Founded in 1980 in Austin, now has about 400 stores. He has transformed the food industry for the better (imho). Nothing really new in this book so far. Not exactly a novel idea to eat 90% plant based foods, cut out processed foods. I heard him being interviewed on various podcasts to promote the book, and it sounded interesting. When I am done reading this book, I am going to read his other book "Conscious Capitalism".

Friday - 6/16/17. legs; abs. m-t-d workouts: 16/16. Yesterday was my worst nutrition day in a long time. I had my usual LaraBar after working out, and the peanuts when I got to work. At lunch time, I went out and stopped at Starbucks for coffee. Right before I ordered, instead of coffee I ordered a doughnut (480 calories - which I ate in 15 seconds). Next I dropped by Panera, and ate a bagel (320 cal). I then bought a box of 16 LaraBars, which were for after my workouts. But by the time I left work, I ate 8 of them (1520 cal). The only redeeming thing, was that I didn't eat anything else when I got home from work. It is scary to be able to revert to your old ways so easily. If I truly reverted back to the old ways though, I would have continued the food fest when I got home from work. So maybe I have learned something.

Sat - 6/17/17. back; abs, 36 treadmill, 30+20 sauna. m-t-d workouts: 17/17. Unfortunately, this isn't a pool weekend. It was raining this morning, and while it is not raining now, it is very cloudy. I wasn't going to run today, but I had the time, since I didn't waste time at the pool, and I can't do any outdoor work today, so I had no excuse. Funny I was just wrote about about Whole Foods and the Whole Foods Diet 2 days ago, and now they are being bought out by Amazon. Shortly when Amazon went public, I bought 100 shares of the stock. Then it went down when the dot com bubble burst, and when it went back up to slightly more than I paid for it, I sold it. I remember thinking, this online shopping is just a fad, and will never catch on. I don't remember what I paid, probably $2,000 or less, the stock split 3 times, so the 100 shares would have been 800 shares now. 800 shares of Amazon would be worth $800,000 today. :(

    Sun - 6/18/17. chest; abs, 36 treadmill, 30+20 sauna. m-t-d workouts: 18/18.

Mon - 6/19/17. arms; abs, 30 sauna. m-t-d workouts: 19/19. I was so tired when I woke up today, any reasonable person would have taken a rest day. But I had decided I am going to workout everyday in June. I really wanted to run today, so I would get 2 days of rest before the next run, but I was too tired. I did have a strong arm day today though. Tomorrow I hope to get that run in.

It wasn't the run you wanted, but you made it to the gym to keep your streak alive, had a good workout, and have a plan going forward. Could be worse.

Still having that Amazon stock would certainly be very nice, but you had no way of knowing where it would be today and since you bought it there were many times when the price dropped over 40% so you would have really needed conviction to stay invested. If only we had a crystal ball.

I agree, except that when I left my last job, I converted the 401K into a self directed IRA. I pretty much don't trade that account. The 12 or so stocks I had 20-25 years ago, I still have now. Some worked out well, some not so well. Unfortunately, the only 2 stocks that I sold, did the best, Amazon and Dell Computer. For Dell, it split so many times after I sold it, I once figured out that I would have had over 13,000 shares for the 100 that I bought. That stock eventually went down, and went private, but nevertheless, I would have made a lot of money on that stock also.

Tues - 6/20/17. 67 treadmill, 30 sauna. m-t-d workouts: 20/20. I am off from work tomorrow, to get some doctor's appointments done, and to get the oil on my car changed. I have had the car slightly over 2 years, and have only changed the oil once. The first time, I got a message on the screen that I needed to change the oil every time I started the car. I was waiting for that message, not realizing how much time has passed. Still no message, I checked the internet, and the Ford dealer who changed the oil last time, apparently didn't reset it (according to youtube). That explanation actually doesn't make sense to me, since I stopped getting the message after the first oil change. Tomorrow I hope to train shoulders, abs.

Friday - 6/23/17. leg, ab training. m-t-d workouts: 23/23. Even though I set the alarm for 3:45 am, and this time I didn't go back to bed for 30-40 minutes, somehow I wasted 30 minutes, got to the gym the normal time 5:05-5:10, and didn't have time for a sauna today. Leg training is my longest and most time consuming workout. There is a remote chance, that if I get out of here early today, I will go back to the gym, spend some time at the pool, and then take the sauna I missed this morning. I hope to do a long run this weekend (outside). Not really that long, but I hope to be able to run for 90 minutes, which probably would be approximately 8 miles. Hopefully early tomorrow morning.

Sun - 6/25/17. chest, ab training, 30+20 sauna. m-t-d workouts: 25/25. Run didn't happen today. Tomorrow I plan to either run, or arm training. I was at the pool, and all of a sudden the sun disappeared and it looked like rain. I didn't think it would actually rain, but decided to leave anyway. After the time spent in the sauna, and getting dressed, by the time I left, it was raining fairly heavily. I don't think the weather report said anything about rain today.

Mon - 6/26/17. 75 minutes treadmill, 25 sauna. m-t-d workouts: 26/26. I was thinking yesterday I would run for 90 minutes today, but when I got on the treadmill I was thinking 75 minutes for today. I would like to increase it about a mile per week. I felt good running today, once again proving it is more than 2/3 mental. When I am home, it seems almost unbearable to spend 75 minutes running. 7 miles on the treadmill for someone my weight is about 840 calorie burn (I go by 120 per mile). I can use that calorie burn. Four weeks in a row, I have gained weight each weigh in. Hopefully this week I will break that cycle. At least I can see the reason for the weight gain, I have been eating too much, and not doing enough cardio.
