I'm noticing that certain exercises are getting easier and I'm able to add weight much quicker than anticipated. I guess there's that period where your body is just getting used to doing these movements again. I typically hate push-ups but today wasn't one of those days. I stop more or less when I feel a lot of pressure in my face. That is my threshold. To think I used to love push-ups haha!

Thanks man! Today is officially my ten year anniversary here at JSF. I must say, I am proud of John Stone for having the ability and will to create such an influential site that has inspired many to strive towards a healthier life, including myself. Thank you John Stone and all the rest of you awesome folks for doing what you do!

    Hammer curls 4 x 15 20lbs
    Standing alternating curls 3 x 20 20lbs

    Total Time: 35mins

Boy, those 20lbs Db curls sure were much harder to pull off than last time. I guess I should stop fueling my guns with oreos then :jk0: On the other hand, I was able to do 20lbs with my hammer curls :tu:

    Thanks J!

    Abs
    Circuit 2 x 8

    Traps
    Dl military press 4 x 15 40lbs

    Dl front press 4 x 15 40lbs

Alternating Front and Back Shoulder Shrugs 3 x 20 40lbs

Rapid Alternating Front and Back Shoulder Shrugs 3 x 20 40lbs
    - Slow down if necessary to ensure that the traps are doing the work.

    Delts
    Front delt ext. 3 x 20 2.5lbs
    - Keep arms straight. Stand straight.

    Side delt ext. 3 x 20 2.5lbs

    Total time: ~58mins

I'm definitely starting to see muscle coming back! Woohoo! I've always had naturally large traps(a mon avis) that I'm proud of, but I'm surprised at how quickly they're coming back. I'm especially surprised by how quickly my biceps and wings are coming back too. Despite all this, I must keep reminding myself that I'm doing this, before anything, for building brain cells and staying mentally fit and healthy :)

I also notice that I'm becoming a bit zealous in my workout habits. My regularity is great, but I'm notice that I'm adding extra reps and sets here and there. I would do well to keep in mind that another goal of mine is to keep these workouts to close to 30 mins, definitely no more than 40mins, so today, in that respect, I'm a bit a disappointed. To satisfy my growing intensity of exercise and time needs, I will add extra weight to my existing limited equipment. I'll place dumbells in book bags and compare weight differences and add accordingly. Analysis aside, I feel great!

    - Using much less weight on this one. Feel my lats doing way more of the work than my traps :D!

    Traditional Full bent row 3 x 15 40lbs
    - Make sure your knuckles face perpendicular to the ground. Forgot how much I love this exercise!

    Barbell Deadlift 3 x 15 62lbs

    Bent-Arm Barbell Pullover 1 x 7 x 23lbs
    - Exercise not worth the joint compromise

    Total time: 45mins

Found some new exercises to do for my lats. I'm going to reduce the amount of sets of deadlifts so I can work on my lats more.

Yikes! So it's been awhile. I've been thinking about working out this whole time, I just haven't figured out how to fit it into my schedule. This has been a point of weakness for me. I know that exercising is vital to my mental health and so not making time will only add to my downfall. I will renew my focus on getting exercise in again 3 times a week. Back to building those brain cells!

Boy oh boy do I need to whip myself back into shape and maintain the frequency of my work outs. I'm allowing days to pass by too easily without exercising when I definitely could fit them in there. I recently made some changes to my schedule so that I could have a lot more time to spend on doing things like these to increase my health and well-being. I've been in a bit of a rut mentally due to what provoked the need to do this, but I think with some time and self compassion, I can recover from this quickly. I'm creating a new routine for myself: a 9-5 schedule that includes work, exercise, and some studying. I think this'll be good for me and I also think I can achieve this; at least for a bit. Even then it will still be a success.

That felt nice. For some reason, nearly the moment I wake up, I feel super motivated to do xyz. Today was lift weights. Certainly a good feeling.

I'm doing a 30 day challenge for myself: 30 straight days of at least 15mins of exercise. I'm on day 11 and I've missed a good half of them, most of the missed days are at the beginning where I hadn't really started yet, but I'm counting them nonetheless. Despite feeling shame for coming back here to post my log since I keep breaking my stride after 30 days usually, I am still somewhat content with the fact that I keep trying. You gotta do what you gotta do I guess.

Today was back day, which is my favorite day. I love the feel of working on my wings. Back day is always the easiest re-entry into a workout routine.
