i feel chest much better when doing narrower grip dips

    i tried doing wide grip dips with leaning forward and my power really decreased. i also didnt feel chest too much.

    i switched to a little narrower grip (but still a bit wider than shoulder width) and my power really increased and also i felt much more stretch and chest work.

    is this normal?

    Yep...the closer your arms are by your sides the more power you will have for Dips.

    If you want to hit chest:- keep your arms where you've got them now...but:-

    Slightly point your elbows out a bit (you can move your hands to do this).
    Slightly hunch your chest forward.
    Look down.
    Do dip.

    But....when you come up, instead of terminating, keep your butt coming up as if you were going to do a handstand. (Your legs are still hanging down though)
    Stop when you're butt has come up as far as you can go with out actually breaking into a handstand.

    Hold for a sec, straighten out and then come back down and repeat all over again.

    This way hits Pecs and Frontal delts more.
