oh yes, everybody loves them:) the white stuff is kajmak, it's a cheese spread, but something between butter and cheese. like clotted cream.

    sopska salata:D
it's perfect in summer. refreshing. why can't you make it at home?

did you try musaka while you were there? layers of potato, meat and veggies, egg plant mostly

Here in Dalmatia those little meat fingers (cevapi) are usually served with onion and ajvar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ajvar). you mst have tried ajvar in Makedonija?

that stuff they use as the basis, is it like couscous?

ajvar is a relish made of peppers and egg plant mostly. it's great in sandwiches, well, with anything basically.

i got really hungry, but was too lazy to get me cevapi, so i just had bread and cheese.
i still want cevapi with ajvar though. it's 11:30 pm, there's still time to get me some:D

its a bit different, couscous is light and fluffy

bulgur, is cracked wheat and has to soak in water over night before it stops being hard

    :nope:

You are brave to ask what something is when you know you like it. Sometimes it's best not to know... you lucked out that i wasn't eyeball goo or something... or maybe you wouldn't care :) When eating at a place where I have no idea what anything is, I prefer to not know what anything is... taste it, form an opinion and done.

Butter - it sounds like you may be feeling a little better, you're at least typing a little perkier :D Very glad for that :) Very sweet that you're going to get your guy some of his favorite beer :)

i usually like to know what it is, but if it tastes good then it tastes good

i will try just about anything once. when i lived in Africa i had fried termites, tasted like burnt popcorn. --- not too bad

    Tabouleh Salad is awesome! :tu:

I agree. When I first came to Japan 20 years ago was dining in hell every freaking day. I couldn't even ask about what I was eating, because I didn't speak or read japanese. I guess I got used to eat without asking.

Buttersweet, is the cold gone?

It's been long because I worked last week, when I should have stayed in bed. I'm on sick leave this week.
It's sooooooooooo boring. I've read all book, saw all DVDs I had at home, so I'm playing jewel quest online and can't get past level 2-2 because every time I lose a life it shifts me back to level 1. I'm going nuts.

Hey, good to see you again!:)
The great thing is that I dream of junk food, and when I get to the store it's all gone and I buy clean stuff. It's just hobnobs that I couldn't resist, and all the precooked food I bought is just sauces because I don't have the strength to stand beside the stove for more than 15 min, so no fresh veggies, but sauce and chicken and brown rice. And fruit.
I just wish someone else could do it all instead of me:blank:
And I'm not worried about exercise, because I can't wait to get back.
Besides, I've got you guys to straighten me up if I slip.:)

    Don't worry, you won't slip! ;) :tu:

And now I'm craving Oreos. With a big glass of milk. Fat milk. Great! :suspicious:

I don't know. I'm weak, I haven't exercised for two weeks now (I think) and I feel pretty down. The trouble is that for every cup of tea I have to get out of bed and make it in a cold kitchen, and that sucks. My diet is terrible, not that I eat junk food, I simply don't eat:blank:

I didn't even do any stretching as jmike suggested:blank:
BUT I think I might do a leg workout tomorrow. I'm not sure anymore whether I'm ill or simply depressed and weak from spending so much time in bed.
I'm going to see my doctor on Monday. See what she says.
My boyfriend is finally home and that OMG is sooooo great:) He came yesterday and I went to pick him up at the airport which was emotionally draining, very weird. He's coming to see me today and I got a long honey-do list for him:dreamy:

Tomorrow, tomorrow I'll start again. I have to or I'll go nuts.
