I wouldn't buy...The site has been a great inspiration and motivator and a great place for everyone to exchange information but I wouldn't buy merchandise unless the sole purpose was for paying for the site, which I assume the advertising does now?

John has said a couple times that he pays for the site out of his pocket, which he is happy to do and the ads no where near cover the cost.

I doubt the ads pay. Additionally, there's the time spent writing the site, maintaining the site, and contributing, of which John does a lot.

I don't think a few t-shirts will be sending John to Bermuda...

But hey... vote with your dollars, right? :tucool:

I'd fly over and pay the fella in person.

He's a big inspiration and if I thought for a second that there was a way that we could show our grattitude, I would...

    Otherwise, THANKS JOHN!

I appreciate the thoughts expressed here, thanks!

The best way to show thanks is to keep working hard, eating right and helping & inspiring others to do the same.

I don't care if this sounds corny, because it's 100% true: my reward is when someone posts to this forum or emails me telling me that I've helped change his or her life for the better. That's a pretty damn cool feeling, and it makes everything I do worthwhile.

If enough people want mugs and t-shirts and stuff I guess it's something I could consider at a later point, but for now I'm still getting over the sting of adding my one damn sponsor! :D

    Thanks again everyone.

I thought about this some more today and I think I would be willing to contribute but instead of just t-shirts...mugs...the regular type shwag...how about workout clothes? Shorts...socks....tanks...those kinds of things?

I've been online for a long time now and I have seen some sites go to pot because of advertising...sponsorship and the original intent of the web site gets lost along the way...thats why my original post was negative. This site appears to have pure intentions and I think that is why so many have come here. I know that is why I now check the site daily.

On the other hand I understand the costs of hosting a highly visted site and wouldn't want John to bear that all on his own.

So...useful items that help support the website without going crazy is something I could definately put my $$ towards.

What do you guys think about workout related gear?

I think I would definately buy a t-shirt that said:

    "Hard Work. Dedication. Results."

Also, I would definitely buy some muscle t-shirts for workingouts, sleeve-less and large arm-openings to allow for minimal restriction and maximum air-flow during the workout. If you could get them made in that 'breathable' material that transfers sweat away from the body, that'd be even better, though I doubt you'd want to put that much of an investment into selling clothing for your site.

    used to be fat

how about something like "used to be fat"
on the front of a t-shirt haha, that would make anyone dedicated til the bitter end, cause nobody would want to wear a thing like that if they felt people around them had the slightest reason to come up to them and say that they still were fat haha!

I know! How about a t-shirt that shows John in his overweight state, and John as he is now that says below the photos:

Discipline + Dedication + Hard work = Results.

    Plus, in smaller print...

    Helping More People

    John and other JSF members,

I would certainly purchase a shirt(s) to wear during workouts. I have learned more in a couple months of participating on this site than I have in years before of being involved in fitness. I mean besides the fact that I am sure John would make some SWEET shirts, it would get the word out to other people who would visit the site, which may initiate change in their lives. I have refferred TONS of people to this site and many of them talk about it all the time now and have started to make changes for the better in their lives. It is about people, life is about people, always has been always will be. Shirts and memorobilia would just be one more way to help people make positive changes in their lives and support a guy who has given so much to us. My vote for Shirts and such is HUGE :tu:

    Thanks John!

i reckon a nice T-shirt would be something simple, but not saying "i used to be overweight" more like "im fit"

so on the front it should have the logo (damn i like that logo alot) with www.johnstonefitness.com under it then on the back have something like

    John Stone
    www.johnstonefitness.com

    Hard work

    Dedication

    Results

but more of a centered theme
i would really like a shirt, that new logo just made me more crazy!
