    Dude, that is awesome.

    Reading your tape comment,
first thought is better the tape come off then skin.

Second thought is when does it come off? That is when your grip is slipping and tearing your skin. Focus at that point to keep from it slipping.

The issue with the tape was that the bar digs into the edge of it, the knurling doesn't grip onto the tape well enough and the bar slips down my hand, taking the tape with it. I've no issue with the tape coming off, after all it's just tape and I can put more on, but the last time I tried it it made my grip weaker. The first time I tried I pulled 2 x 205 without any problems though so I think I need to experiment with positioning.

94.1kg yesterday. Starting to track calories again so I know what I need to do if I want to cut weight. I only need to lose 1kg to make weight so it shouldn't be a big deal.

    Friday 27th July

    A Deadlift

    2 x 5 x 170kg
    2 x 5 x 180kg
    1 x 5 x 170kg
Did hook grip with tape on my thumbs for first rep of every set and then put straps on as my thumbs are still a way from healed. I think tape is going to be a temporary training measure and not something I can do in comp as I just find a way that felt comfortable.

    B Block pull
    4 x 3 x 170kg

That's all I had time for as I didn't get in to the gym until after 5pm and it closes at 7 on Fridays. It frequently takes me 2 hours+ to get through my sessions!

The 22nd September competition has been cancelled and replaced with one on 27th October. The venue has also been confirmed (it's about an hour's drive away for me) and they've even got an entry form sorted already, so I'm all set for that new date now. So, I now have just under 13 weeks. Hopefully I can put the extra 5 weeks to good use.

I'm sure there's a mental aspect to have been training for a specific date only to have it postponed, but it sounds as if you have the right attitude about using the extra time. :tucool:

Yeah I wasn't psyched up yet for the original date so it's not a huge deal. Training was ramping up a bit but I'm not deep into the pain zone yet so it's all good.

I missed a training session last week for the first time in ages (besides planned breaks for holidays etc) - possibly since October/November? I got stuck in traffic on the way to the gym due to some road closures in my town and ended up having to turn around and go home. At least it was in deload week.
