    Canada,

I edited the thread title. There's no need to call people "sissy asses" because their training may not meet your standards. We all have different goals and methods of reaching them. You wouldn't like it if someone called you a fat-ass, would you?

Loved the quote. Bench bodyweight, check. Deadlift double bodyweight... uhhhh, working on it. If I lose 20 pounds I'll only need 400 on the DL, so I've got about 85 lbs to go- guaranteed by June.:D

What many trainers don't realize, is if they cycled 10-12 weeks of pure strength training once or twice into the year, then returned to a more conventional bodybuilding routine incorporating more isolation movements, their weights on these movements should increase anywhere from 15-25%. What impact do you think this would have on your physique if, for instance, you've always done dumbell rows with 65 lb. dumbells for your 10 rep max, then suddenly discovered that you are now able to use 95 lbs. for your 10 rep max?

This works both ways. If you incorporate isolation excecises into your routine you strengthen individual muscles which makes your compound excercises increase in load. In other words, if you increase your chest, shoulders, and tris strength through isolation excercises it only makes sense that your bench would improve.
Regardless, I say the BEST routine is a combination of both. Compound followed by isolation.
