I have mine or, at least, I had it before I went and injured myself (which was two weeks ago). It was a big milestone for me -- I made a post about it a couple months ago when I first got it. Strength to bodyweight goals are great fun! If I make it to my 405 goal (see sig), I should end up at least 2.25x bodyweight (factoring in muscle gain between now and then).

You could have worded your thread title a bit more politely. ;) The quoted text is the T-Nation tip of the day for anyone who's wondering.

Heh heh..ya, I gotcha. I'm a compound guy myself ...my workouts are centered around compound moves (with a little isolation thrown in here and there). The shootout should be fun though.... :D

Huh. I got the bench and then some, but I never deadlift heavy.

Does squatting double the body weight count? I'm not that far from that.

I like Dan John too, no nosense. Still haven't done much with the overhead squats yet thou which is one of his (Dan John's) favorite lifts.

btw Dan John has a very good free ebook on his site, danjohn.org i think it is.

True dat! You look very good bro ... I can't argue with your results by any means. :tucool:

Actually, I am not terribly dogmatic on the isolation vs. compound debate myself. I think that both are useful in any program.

Of course, I did figure such a provocative title would elicit a war of epic proportions, with general DD leading the charge. :D

Pshaw. You'll have another thread about this by the end of next week. This forum is frustratingly cyclical, with the same people chasing their tales over the same subject matter again and again...

But I assume at this point in your training you can easily bench your own body weight and dead lift twice it. The T-Nation quote is referring to beginners.

I don't deadlift heavy because of a lower back problem. I wish I could because I love deads.
    Bench- well over my bodyweight.
