Welcome to JSF. Please search the forum. There are many, many threads on this.

And I hate fasted HIIT if you are curious. Many like it though. Many like fasted LISS as well.

    Wait, I just remembered, you're 14...

Don't do either of those. Do cardio when you have time.

Sorry that's how I feel. Do your cardio but don't go crazy on it. Not at 14. Go out and meet some girls. :D

I think fasted LISS makes a bit more sense compared to fasted HIIT...

Fasted LISS > Fasted HIIT IMO

But any non-fasted high intensity cardio is great too.

You're 14 and worrying about this? Eat healthy, stay active and you'll be happy.

I prefer doing both... To me it doesn't make sense just to do one type of cardio. I do HIIT in the morning on lifting days, and LISS on non-lifting days. I also cross-train by playing ice hockey every Thursday - GREAT cardio!!!

I would suggest getting cardio by playing sports first...but if you don't like sports, then running, swimming, or even a stationary bike is good, IF IT IS GOOD FOR YOU! Do you find riding a stationary bike/elliptical fun? I personally do cause I listen to some tunes at the same time.

    Cheers!

What part of Aus are you from Tim?

If you want to lose fat, diet is the biggest factor in success. Perfect your diet and you're 90% there.

Like LordKovacs said, sport is enough exercise at your age. If you live in Australia, you probably play sport (at school it was compulsory for me). When you turn 16, you can start getting a bit more serious.

    Ditto here.

When I perform HIIT I usually have my 4 weet-bix and milk about 1-1.5 hours before hand.

Hey marcus, i live in Sydney, i c u live in Melbourne, im going there these holidays after christmas sometime :D

Well cardio is a good thing isint it? even if ur aim isint trying to lose weight, I have a friend who likes to jog for fun.

Haha, after my last date, i think im gonna take a little time off girls, and just hang out with them and be friends :tu:

Ive got a pretty clean diet ATM IMO, im sorta bulking, but not really, jacked my calories up to 2300...ive gained some lower ab flab :bang:

And i dont play any sports really, i mean yeh, always have sport at school but im now on holidays, so no sport.

Oh and whOareume, i brang this up because i would like to have a well defined six pack most of the time (except now coz im 'bulking') so i want a nice effective way to keep the fat off, coz even with a diet i have a slow metabolism so it doesnt help keeping the fat off. And just recently because of my bulk ive lost my six pack :( so once im finished i want to get back on track again FAST.

And thanx for all your replies ;)

I think fasted LISS is by far the best form to support long term fat loss.

Fasted HIIT is a bad idea because you will burn muscle. If you choose HIIT... make sure you eat appropriatley.

If you are really worried about trying to keep muscle dont do Hiit

If you are looking for results to be seen faster than you should do Hitt.

Liss will definently get results but it will take longer for you to "look thin".

Looking thin shouldnt be the goal anyway but getting you bf % lower.

When does LISS become more than Low Intensity? Is there a heart rate cutoff point or something? What is the next level after LISS? MISS then HISS or what? I know these are stupid questions, I'm sure I could search or something, but hey- just looking for a quick response here...

Depends on who you are asking. I actually disagree with our defiintion of LISS here, but use it anyway since it's already been accepted.

    To me:

    Low Intensity = < 65% MHR
    Moderate Intensity = 65-75% MHR
    High Intensity = 75-85% MHR
    Very High Intensity = > 85% MHR
