I recently did something on a device that i believe was called a roman chair. Its where your lower body is supported and you dip your upper body up and down (with various weights if your more trained). Supposedly its beneficial, for the lower back, which otherwise unless you squat doesnt get done i hear?

Is this true? and is it good? and do alot of people do it?

I do that without weights. That exercise makes my lower back feel great. I don't have a roman chair, but I do the extentions the same way with an ottomen and some assistance from john. It does make my lower back feel stronger.

Sounds similar movement to Good Mornings, the free weight exercise. Training your lower back is very important, both for over all look and for general body strength, it is the counter muscle for your abs and should be worked as much as them, just like working your triceps as much as you work your bicep.
