I hurt my foot while playing with my dog. We were dinking around outside at my apartment when my neighbors pit bull bolted through their dog and sprinted at our puppy. I dove and covered up our little peanut and hurt my foot in the process.

Today I played hoops for 20 min and did 30 min on the ellitpical. Man I feel very out of shape.

Tough, tough workout today. I'm ridiculous out of shape right now.

    SLDL:
    2x15 @ 205 - Heavy as heck.

    Bent over row:
    2x10 @ 185 - Heavy as heck.

    Incline Bench:
    3x5 @ 170 - Heavy.

Gimme two weeks and I'll be back in the game.

I have been lifting 3x per week and doing cardio 2x per week, just been horrible about visiting here. I feel very overwhelmed lately, but when I sit down and analyze where my time is spent, it seems so much is wasted.

I need to clean my diet up. That's really the reality of the situation. Activity level is adequate.

I've been lifting a lot lately: 3x per week plus 2x basketball these days.

I have been slacking on my journal and that will end tonight. As I stated earlier, I'm in a weird state of life with working ~1.5ish hours of drive time away from my job now, so I feel like I'm constantly driving and thus neglecting other duties.

My wife and I are moving the Saturday after Thanksgiving back to our hometown-ish area, so we're pretty excited! I'm definitely stoked to NOT drive so much! Not only is it a waste of time (though I do get some quality thinking in), it is expensive too!

I had the single best workout of my life tonight. At least it feels that way:

    Stiff leg deadlifts:
2x15 @ 230 - The last reps are always really freaking hard, and my glutes and hamstrings are like on fire. Once I set the weight down, I basically collapse from exhaustion! These are serious CNS killers!

    Incline Bench:
3x6 @ 185 - These went up pretty easy given how fried my body was by this point.

    Bent over row:
    2x10 @ 195 - Really good, easy sets.

    Tricep Pushdown:
2x10 @ Don't Remember - Insanely heavy. My arms are shaking uncontrollably by the end.

    Seated Row:
    2x8 @ 140 - Really good, controlled sets.

In general, my body is completely fried. I feel like I was hit by a truck, but I made it! I threw in two scoops of ice cream with my protein shake after the workout. It was delicious :D

Way to go Dan. Sounds great that you get to go back home. And great job with that lifting teh other day. 15x2 reps of deads can be killer.

20 reps of squats at 225 lbs is absolutely insane. My entire body hurts today!

Lefty you are lookin' lean and mean in the new avatar! Wow! Great work!!

Lately I have been slacking on posting but spending tons of time in the gym.

    Tonight:

    Back squat:
3x5 @ 315 - Good sets. My quads are so fried right now!

    Military Press:
3x5 @ 120 - Really good, strict form. Pushing from upper chest at complete stop. Trying to keep good form. This is really tough. Once it's up a little bit it goes up very easily, though.

    Rows:
1x5 @ 185 - I was pretty wiped out so I called it quits early today. I have been hammering my body lately and I can really feel it everywhere.

Have been doing a lot of cardio.

Last summer was a new experience with marriage and living together. I pigged out and ate a lot of crap. Now that we're used to living with eachother, I'm getting into the dietary zone and feeling great. I kept it under pretty good control throughout the holidays and am really rounding into form.

This is as strong as I've ever been. I feel great strength wise. The REALLY long sets I was doing during the summer must have paid off a bit because my squat is feeling better than ever.

Can you get involved in any sports leagues?

I've been busy, busy, busy with work, plus I play competitive hockey 4-5x per week. This pretty much restricts my lifting to one day per week.

I do squats and deadlifts on those days.

I go pretty heavy, and I keep making great gains....and I'm almost of the opinion that it is because of spend 2 hours 4-5x per week playing hockey.

I could play sports if I was so inclined. I play competitive tennis during the summer. I played soccer last winter, but I probably won't do that again. It was too expensive and not that fun.

This winter I'll be playing a lot of racket ball and doing a lot of running. I want to get in very good cardiovascular shape.

JJ Watt, former Wisconsin Badger current Houston Texan superstar.

I've been lifting like a beast lately. My right knee is a little sore from squatting heavy 3x per week.

My last workout was 3 sets of 5 at 320 for squat. That's definitely getting up there!

Still hitting the weights hard. I've stopped lifting with a belt, at least for the time being. My lower back and core are really lagging behind my legs in squats and deadlifts.

I have dropped weight a bit to work on form.

Went as high as 3x5 for 335 on squat. Dropped to 285 without a belt and building my way back up.

Benched 3x4 @ 225, so feeling pretty good about that.

Thinking about changing up lifting routine soon. May go back to Mastovers total body training. Really want to focus on my hamstrings, hips, and back.

I have been eating really clean lately. Lots and lots of boneless skinless chicken breasts. I have been chopping them up 3-5 lbs at a time into bite size pieces (pre-cooked), then marinating in generic frank's red hot for an hour or so, then pan frying them in the marinade. I have been eating this primarily as a sandwich on a roll (unhealthy), but I could easily shore this up and make it cleaner. I highly recommend this. I put a little ranch dressing on it too, and it's fantastic!
