Bob T - Back for more, (or less actually) - Journal III

    OK...here I am...again!

Joined back in 2011 when I reached a couple pound shy of 200 lbs, at 5' 7".:nono:
Had good success for quite a while. Lost over 30 lbs, got stronger, felt better...
    See my first journal here

Had a relapse and a second journal...helped some, but didn't stick with it.

So now a rough summer, plus some family issues, pushed me into extra calorie land...:o And now I am back at 180 lbs, give or take. Monday I started counting calories again, opened up my food log, and this weekend the weights come back out.:tucool:

I am setting a goal of 165 by the start of February...

Besides....I miss all you guys and gals....

    Back at ya! Thanks!

Official weight this morning was 181.0 lbs.

One of the problems with starting this in early December, is the holidays. And I do have holiday party tonight at a friends house. There will be good food, good craft beer, and good wine, so achieving my calorie deficit today may be difficult. I fully intend to reach my weekly goal, no matter what tonight brings.

We're definitely in a difficult time of the year to lose weight. I wasn't as well behaved as I should have been at the gathering I hosted last night and will strive to do better at the party I'm going to in about two hours. Nothing social planned for tomorrow so that should make eating/drinking decisions easier.

    Good luck reaching your goals.

    Hi Bob. Welcome back.

Hopefully you have kept the rubber in contact with the and not the shiny bits.

Jaer had mentioned that for him not gaining over the holidays is a win. So if you manage to lose you will be off to a fantastic start.

Thanks! And no mishaps this summer....wife is riding with me again, had a few real nice trips...
Got away from the BMWs for a while...riding a Triumph now.

And he is correct! I don't even know where to begin counting last nights calories...
How many calories are there in a bacon wrapped chukar, cooked on the grill? I don't know, but they were dang good!:tucool:

On a better track today with eating...

    Bob

    Thanks!

Quick update. Weight is slightly down at 180.0 from 181.0 last week. Working on recreating the habits that worked during my first journal.

    1. Logging my diet. Doing this, and it is already proving to be very beneficial and enlightening.

    2. Getting at least 8 hours sleep. Difficult when I get up at 4:15am for work, but I am doing it most days.

    3. Exercise. Walking more and got my weights out, but still need to clear space in the garage to use them:bb:, and I need to move my pull up bar. I will get this done before the holidays.

Anyway...need to do some reading and catch up on everyone...

    Later,
    Bob

Well this is not the way I wanted to lose weight...
Finally got out of bed after 44 hours. Worst flue experience I ever had. Still not completely right, but able to get up and move about.

665 total calorie intake for Thursday and Friday, most of that from orange juice...along with 12 or 14 bottles of water.

Lost 5 lbs during those two days...so I am 175 now.

Might not be the recommended way, but if those 5 pounds stay off, it gives you a good headstart.

Thanks! I'll take it, but it was awful. Still am not right this morning.

Even though I drank water steadily, I am sure some of that loss was water. I sweated out gallons, it seemed like. And if I understand how these things work, the rest was probably muscle mass, so best get to working out soon.

Ate about half my normal calories yesterday and am at 175.2 this morning.

Well, I see the old thread is still here....

Things are a bit dusty, but I can fix that. No need to start another thread, I'll just try to carry on with this one.

Need to catch up with the neighbors, and see what's happening.

Nice to see your still at it, along with so many other familiar names...

Summer was....How should I say it....Late to arrive, and full of many challenges....that's as close as I can come to good.

But here I am, about half a year away from 60, with my doctor (strongly) suggesting some life course corrections. And where better to start working on them, but here.:D

Official start date was 1 Sep 15.
    Starting weight was 182.
Goal is 165 by 31 Dec 15, which is about a 525 daily calorie deficit.

Diet log started on the 1st.
Started cycling this week. (It's been 30+ years since I rode a bike, so I have some very sore legs right now)
Workouts to begin after I finish making some space in the garage.

    Bob
