Any ideas on what average arm size is un-pumped. Just curious.
Average who? so many variables. Think about it a 700 lb man might have a 29 inch arm. Might say only about 3% have arms larger than 16". I can guess as good as anyone.
un-trained and not obese = 12.5
Trained, no drugs or supplements = 14.75
According to Men's Health,
The average guy:
1. has a 13 inch bicep
2. can do 27 pushups
3. can bench-press 93% of his body weight
4. has a 41-inch chest
5. has 20.4 inch thighs
6. consumes 2,618 calories a day
7. has a body-fat percentage of 19.7
8. stands 5'-9" and weighs 181 pounds
9. has a BMI of 26.6 and a waist size of 38.8 inches
10. can run 1.5 miles in 12.5 minutes
11. has a VO2 max of 42.4
This is a great post...everybody..post!!!!
With arm size, so does weight. Read lean body mass.
I'll start with my own. 190lbs, long ass arm and 15" 85lb. curl.
My goal is 205 and 16". 95 to 105lbs...another thing we should do is put some poundages with the measurements, I have no prblem with that.
I'd say that the average size of an unpumped arm is about...an inch smaller than pumped? Something like that. Other than that, I think rtestes is probably quite close, just a little low in my eyes...
Why don't you start a thread on that topic? Individual arm sizes won't tell us anything about the average, especially in a forum where most are seriously into weight lifting.
Yes it will,It'll give you a good idea.
Knubb, let me guess this one, you weigh , what 250? I'd say you have about a "18 arm?
13" Unpumped, 14.5" Pumped
It won't give you a good idea about average arm size, it'll give you an idea about average arm size for those who exercise, and feel like posting about it. There's a big difference as I see it.
My stats can be found in my journal (at least those from a few weeks ago), or I'd be happy to post them in a "What's your arm size?"-thread.
5'7"... OK. I'm exaggerating a quarter inch or so. Currently a pudgy 170... around 15% bf ..
15.5" cold... Pumped.. no idea... never took a tape measure to the gym with me. Rtestes... no drugs here...
Curl... no idea... I've done reps with up to 115 but usually work bi's after back so the highest I usually go is 85 lbs. Weight really doesn't mean alot to me.
5'8" 179lbs, ~20% bf, 32" waist, 25.5" thighs, 15.5" biceps, 42" chest
40in waist working on it..hey down from 44
Bicep unpummped 14.65 pumped 15.25
18-20% BF (not sure, i got lots of lose skin and it makes my bf% hard to guess)
Bicep unpumped 12 pumped 13.5
still trying to get rid of the mid section fat/spare tire.
By pumped, are we talking about normally flexed, or flexed after a bicep (or back) workout?
I measure with my arm out like I am hitchhiking. I do that because I see that when the arm is hanging it sometimes presses against the body and measures larger.
arm out to side with thumb up = 14.25
arm flexed after two sets of dips and curls = 16.25
14.5 inches un-pumped. About 165 5 '9. No juice or supplements. Everyone tells me that my arms look huge and I think that they are maybe average or a little bigger
When you say not pumped, do you mean flexed or not flexed?
Arm = 16.5 inches flexed (unpumped).
9% body fat
13.25 inch biceps cold
14.75 inch biceps pumped, curl 120 the right way (155 cheating)
42 inch chest, bench 210
31 inch waist
for your age and weight you put together some good numbers.
