Have you tried doing your own popcorn? The poppers are cheapish- $16 here in Australia for the one I bought, and then a bag of corn kernals is around a $1: but much less calories than the preprepared stuff that is available here. :D

    Abby Abby, where art thou?

I hope you haven't given up already, as we started our new goals about the same time.

So, I haven't died ;). I've been way overworked lately and really unhappy with my current job. So, I decided to start looking and actually got an offer last Friday. All of this has been taking up a lot of time. I'm going to re-motivate myself and start logging again. new job, new body, new outlook on life, right? :)

I have been working out 2x a week and not eating TOO bad. I did 55 min on the elliptical last week :) and I'm hovering at about 188lbs.

    More updates to come!

I like that "the Midwest" in and of itself is a factor.

Well, you're at the perfect age to get it together. You should have it wrapped up pretty quick and then you won't have to worry too much about it other than improvement in your 30's (I started fitness-izing about the same age, same scenario). It kicks ass once the leaness amortizes on itself. Look forward to it; you'll have it in no time. Cool:tucool:

I used to row way back too. I don't miss the ERG.

well, i meant that missouri is less body conscious than south florida so i don't feel the need to stay in shape (bad excuse i know).

and yea, the erg is killer! i can't believe what i used to pull on that thing ;)

i'm in the process of creating a good grocery list so that i'm not always running out to grab something (usually bad).

Same way here in Kentucky. Way too many people here about the size of a small house. Makes it easy to trick yourself into thinking you're not as big as you really are! Everytime I travel it's like a rude awakening
