Just did an even 400 tonight, assuming the bar is truly 45lbs. If not, I could have done with another 10 pounds so I'm calling it good.

After my workout on Sunday, I'm going to attempt to pull 400. I did 360 a few weeks back.

I seem to be the only new member in this club in the last couple years. Is everyone just skipping it and going right to the 500 club?

Anyway, officially a 400lb-deadlift-er (I suppose we can just call a "400lb deadlift" a "Half Pete").

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?edit=vd&v=b0sAxvGOa-4

Any comments on form are appreciate. Have never videos/photoed myself for checking form before. A few years ago I was at a gym where some of the guys working there would offer (useful) critiques and advice/corrections, but sadly that place closed down and as you can tell, I workout alone in my basement without any mirrors.

    Thanks!

    Jaer
has his eyes set on the 500lb deadlift club, but that seems a bit far off!

    NICE!! 8-pack FTW!!!

    Great job...

The only very minor thing I will throw out there is that you may be letting your shoulders slouch a hair...
The best cue for that is: "proud chest"

Otherwise....you made it look easy! You are probably close to a 455 single....

    Also,... "half-Pete club"...

I do try to keep proud chest in mind, and that is one place I often self-correct during. Thanks for the appraisal!

    Jaer
was worried about back or leg position.

Chiming in late here Jaer, but great lift. I'm no form expert so will leave that to others, but looking very strong to me.

225x5 pretty easy tonight. Overhead press as part of the stronglifts 5x5 are getting tough as I near where I stalled last summer.:bb:

I guess 225=4 pack? Hopefully get 6 pack when I PR in a few weeks as a check-up. Only been back at this 6 weeks, and started at 135# for DL

235X5 at the end of a workout that began with tire flips, some self-defense/combatives and then squats/OHP/Deads. Stalled on OHP 4x5 at 100#, only got 4 on last set. Anger at missing a rep made 235x5 on the DL fly up and down.

I'm in on this one, I guess. I pulled 405 last July but haven't gone above 365 since then. I'm not testing my max for a while, but I suspect I'm in the ballpark of 400 right now.

Grip strength popped up as issue

Finished today's workout with 1x5 at 255. Really felt the weight, and by the last two reps could also feel my fingers unwrapping. Didn't use much chalk, or a hook grip. Two more DL workouts then a benchmark PL test to see where I am at. Hoping to pull 315 equaling all-time max before a break last year.

Pulled 385 today with good speed and acceptable form. I could have gone for 400 but wanted to keep a bit in the tank. I suspect I'll be there within 2 weeks at most, just depends on when I decide to pull heavy singles again.

Pulled 290 today at the end of maxing in all three powerlifts. Form was breaking down, and 300 didn't even start up. Will stick to SL 5x5 another 10 weeks unless I start stalling all over the place, and then focus on heavy singles-triples.
