After being so close last week and feeling strong today went for it again at 158lb, very happy got x 2
Again left some in the tank and worked shoulders hard with some drop sets.
Will up again next week in a 5 lb jump, hope progress stays steady.

    45 x 6 (warm up)

    115 x 6
    135 x 4
    157.5 x 4

Solid workout, 57 lbs to go
Left some in the tank as well so no where near a plateau on this yet.

Very nice....a 168 double definitely has you at a 175-180 single....

For me, going from 185 to 205 seemed to take forever....
I found it very difficult to add even a relatively small amount of weight to my max on this exercise....hence me call it my Mount Everest...:)

Also, if you can bench 150kg x 5 you have a lot more pressing power than I do.
Seems like a 225 press is in your grasp....

Thanks for the feed back digitalnebula.
I have always had good pressing power, last week the area of the gym I use to do the lift was not free and I couldn't wait around so did a workout with dumbells and a seated shoulder press machine instead.
On the machine I got at the end 265 lbs + for 3 reps, this was the 100 kg limit plus a 20kg and 2.5kg plates hung on the stack with extra pins. Was very very happy with this.

Now I know this is a lot easier as it is just pressing but does give me confidence that as my form improves this challenge is more and more doable.
    Hitting it again Wednesday.
Good luck to you as well with this 'mountain'.

Yup, I'm finding this out myself. My goal was to add 40 pounds in 2010. I added 20 pounds, but it is getting really hard now. I went 4 weeks without any gain whatsoever, so I gotta try some new stuff.

I've actually had to stop OH pressing for a couple of weeks due to a supraspinatis injury. But I am still going to try to reach my goal in 2010.

    Standing BB Press
    45 x 6 (warm up)
    90 x 6 x 2
    115 x 6
    135 x 5
    157.5 x 4
    168 x 2
    180 x 1

That was hard, managed to get a lock out but took a lot
Going to take a week rest from exercise, de-load back to 146, build up the reps and work to another 6 weeks cycle to go past this.

Well it was a 3 week break, first week planned, 2nd and 3rd weeks combination of illness and procrastination.
Back now though and deloaded as planned
    45 x 6 (warm up)
    90 x 8 x 2
    110 x 8 x 2
    135 x 6
    145 x 2
    110 x 5 x 3

Workout went as planned, didn't get as many reps as I wanted on the heavier weight but think that more to 3 week lay off - will be jumping 11 lbs each week for next 5 weeks till back to max and then look for new PB

    45 x 6 (warm up)
    90 x 8 x 2
    110 x 8 x 2
    135 x 8
    145 x 8
    157.5 x 3
Very happy with that, felt very strong and the last set was very easy 3, for some reason held back from more reps but ok with that as feel I can take another big jump next week.
