225lb barbell Backsquat club

    Been in the feel-out process to see how the knee will handle things...

    I am starting to hit the place where its getting a little challenging.....I caught myself doing a little bit of a good morning out of the hole during the last couple sets...

    Depending upon how I feel next week...I will likely go to increasing 10 per week until I can't finish 3 sets of 5 reps...

    I am a good month from trying any kind of singles though...
    - Need to get good form back
    - Need to trust my knee for maxing out (which will come with repetition and strength)

    I would love to squat over 300 again....but I doubt that happens this year.

    In Feb 2009 I commented that this had been a short lived challenge. I posted twice, then disappeared. I'm back now and doing Starting Strength as I was before. My workout template has me going up to 102Kg/224.6lbs (3X5) assuming no stalls in perhaps only 4 more sessions. I will keep with the program until I reach 104Kg/228.8lbs so that I get at least one of these challenges done.

    Yesterday 94Kg/206.8lbs 3X5

    The last rep was really tough.

    Couldn't find a record of lifting more than this so I think this is equal to my PR.

    225 may have to wait as I am thinking of changing programs due to a lack of motivation. Indeed, lack of concentration today led me to unload one end of the bar completely before unloading any plates from the other end. Bit of a fright as the bar pitched off the rack. Only damage to the floor where the bar was driven into the floor.

    My hammies are still stiff from the timed deadlift challenge last Thursday....:eek:

    This got 'em nice and stretched out...:lol:

    I think I can single 225 now.

    Squats are still a little strange for me....I still feel the effects of the extensive nerve damage done to my right knee during those surgeries...
    It's hard to explain....but its definitely....odd...:confused:

    Just did 8,8,8 x 185 lbs.

    Hoping that by end of summer (e.g. end of August) can be hitting 8,8,8 x 225.

    Done in here...on to the 300 club...I hope to get there before the end of the calendar year....we will see in the coming month how my knee reacts to heavier loads.
