    Yeehaa! :lol:

    I realize that 19.2 pounds in the 8 weeks I've got until my goal date is still feasible (2.4 lbs/week), but I am going to concede right now. :lol:

    This week was the first week in a 2 week full diet break for me. During that time, I would normally eat at maintenance levels and add in some foods that I normally avoid. I decided at some point to eat at a surplus as an experiment.

    I had been losing around 1.5 pounds of lean mass each month for the last three months(while losing 6 lbs/month of fat). I've had enough of that. I wanted to put some LBM back on in the form of muscle mass... so I'm carrying a surplus of 250 calories/day for the 2 weeks of my diet break. I also started the diet break with a 24 hour structured re-feed in which I consumed around 800 grams of carbohydrates.

    This week I put on about half a pound of body weight, but 1.7 pounds of added lean mass and 1.3 pounds of fat loss. I am now toying with the idea of switching from fat loss mode into a recomposition plan. If next week's results are similar to this week, I may at least add another week of the full diet break and tweak it a bit.

    So I'm not sure if this challenge is really where I am headed, but I am going to stick around. You never know when things might change and I also want to support everybody who is still pushing it here to hit the goal of 20 pounds by Thanksgiving! Go kill it!

    You realize that's average to good, right? A few years ago, I did a survey of what people lost on cuts, and roughly 1:4 to 1:6 was what I found in terms of lean:fat.

    Yeah... but why settle for average or even good? ;)

    Truthfully, my goal was to hit 200 lbs BW with 10% BF, and I was shooting for fulfillment by mid-September of 2012(plenty of time left). I was down to 177.1 pounds of LBM at a BW of 227.6 pounds. If I continued to lose BW at a 1:6 ratio (LBM:Fat) I would end up at 200 lbs with only 173 lbs of LBM... that is 13.5% BF not 10%... and I know... 13.5% is healthy. So? :lol:

    I am halfway considering trying to stay at 225 lbs for BW and just shoot for the lowest BF% I can manage without becoming obsessive. At 225/10% I would have 202.5 lbs of LBM. That means gaining 25 lbs of lean while dropping 28 pounds of fat, and I still have 12 months,roughly, to get it done. Sounds like a challenge to me. :lol:

    Ah, I see. I've worked my goals similarly but different. I just want to drop to 155 or a bit below at <12% bf and then bulk up, cut, bulk, etc. The gaol is that by around spring 2013, I should be able to be around 180 at 11ish% bf no problem. So, I'm looking at it more with intermediate goals rather than the year-ish goal in one go.

    Weight is average of morning weights over Sunday-Saturday over the dates listed. BF% is measured on Sunday morning, the first date listed (though ideally it would be Wednesday, in the middle of the weight average).

    Week 1's Average Weight/BF%: 169.2 lbs || 18.5% (8/28-9/03)
    Week 2's Average Weight/BF%: 168.3 lbs || 18.1% (9/04-9/11)
    Week 3's Average Weight/BF%: 167.8 lbs || 17.5% (9/12-9/17)*
    Week 4's Average Weight/BF%: 168.9 lbs || 17.4% (9/18-9/23)

    *N=1 for the average weight since I was on travel much of this week.

    last week was rough for me. going to have to stay motivated and not let the stress of every day life, that everyone has to go through eventually, throw me off my path. Goal is in my sights. ROCK IT!

    The scale is just not budging much for me despite eating very clean and working out intensely (not as intensely as I was a month ago, mind you).

    I'm getting stronger though, so that's good.

    Just finished my 2 week full diet break and am happy to say that my scale weight is identical to the day that I started the diet break. I'm shooting for a loss of one pound each week going forward.

    That will put me about 7 or 8 pounds lighter by Thanksgiving... err... by the weekend before Thanksgiving, when the celebrations begin(wedding, Thanksgiving, wedding all in 8 days). I'm good on that. This will most likely be my last 20 lbs by... challenge.

    You guys tear it up! :evil:

    What a great week!! I was totally on focus last week and this week is starting out no different. I'm going to rock this 20lbs out and have time to spare. Anyone want to try for 25? ^^

    Keep up the good work. I too am finally hitting my stride. My commitment this entire time has been spot on (I go hard 5 days a week, take the weekend off) but was stuck on a plateau for almost two months. Now I seemed to have knocked out a ton of stubborn weight in the past two weeks.

    Forgot to post my weigh in this past Thursday, so here is today's numbers.

    Start Weight: 228.8 lbs
    Weigh in today: 224.6 lbs
    Total change: -4.2 lbs

    It feels good to see the scale move in the right direction again. I am slowly coming to terms with the fact that I will lose lean mass during this weight loss phase. After trying a number of things, I don't think it is avoidable. I'm still pushing hard to keep as much as I can, though. ;)

    I'll post again this Thursday... promise. :tu:

    Thanks! I've never been this motivated before. Loving these results! Can't say I've been doing it on my own though, Mastover has helped me a great deal! :claphigh:

    Congrats! I fell off my rickety archaic wagon for the last two weeks, but I'll be posting an update tomorrow. Made a teensy bit of weight progress.
